How this place only has 4.1 stars I'll never know. It was like walking in to a fantasy land. If you ignore the prices, this is the nicest store I've ever been in. Well stocked. Everything was faced perfectly. No overflow stock in sight on the floor. The employees here clearly care about the quality of their work.
Dollar general corporate still sucks and probably doesn't pay these exceptional employees enough but they definitely deserve some praise.
Great looking store! Well done.

I was just shopping at the Dollar General in Lafayette, OR. When I went to check out… the short, overweight, grey haired, balding old man with glasses that is the manager of the store accused me of stealing because I had a separate order in a reusable shopping bag still sitting in the basket, that I had not yet put on the counter. He then began yelling that I was trying to steal from the store, and demanding that I let him look in my purse while grabbing it and yanking on it. I immediately started to try and explain myself, mind you with a severe case of laryngitis. But, he was not having it. He continued to accuse me of theft, yell that he was going to call the cops, and demanding my purse while clutching the shopping bag that I PURCHASED ELSEWHERE that had the other order in it. I told them told him to give me back my shop bag, and he refused. I yanked my bag from his hand, dumped out the other order in the shopping cart, and said a few choice words as he was telling me never to go back to that store. He then proceeded to record me walking out of the store, and to my car, yelling ‘have fun with the cops!’
Addendum: I just had the county sheriff’s deputies at my door over the whole matter. Wow, that man really needs to be careful who he decides to falsely accuse.
I perused the reviews, and this man has been a problem several times, over the last couple of years!
My attorney will be contacting this company!

Friendly. 3 stars because i will not be buying beer there again. I was carded, and i am 69. The law says if i look 26 or under. They do scan but did not me. Maybe because i said something like what i said above.id bull is getting too normized o. A free society. I will not even id for a cop unless i am arrested

First time at this store and they didn’t have anything I was looking for like the one in willamina.
Today my second time in, not only was there 1 employee working but checking out the employee was very rude and wack, not sure if he was on something but I’m never coming back.

I will never shop at this Dollar general again. One of the co-workers and old man accused me of stealing and I took him back to where I put the items that I didn't want. He was very rude and yelled at me and told me not to come back in the store because I didn't want to purchase my items after being accused of stealing.

These stores are leaching on our small communities by offering deceptive pricing, low wages and terrible working conditions. Those that choose to shop here are part of the problem. I know I am in a failing community when I see a Dollar General.

Three stars due to a long wait with no cashier at the checkstand. I was tempted to just walk out with my items. I must have waited at least 5 minutes for the clerk to show up (and no other staff around).
