Zero stars if possible. Just got our family a new puppy and called several locations one isn't taking new clients and the other location near my house is only willing to allow me to drop my 10 week old dog off for multiple hours to be in a dirty kennel (while he's unvaccinated )and I can't wait with him they say I gotta go home and don't know when I can pick him up, zero time frame given.... All for one shot ? Something that should take 15 minutes maximum. The very reason I'm getting him a shot is to protect him from things such as funk, fecal and the types of bacteria that cause illnesses. Do not bring your animals here. The young woman on the phone was rude and flat out lacked intelligent capabilities to compute why a person would not want to risk their animals safety .this process is not normal for vets. (The very reason they make things difficult to get a visit and or provide shifty care is because they sell a bunch of free visit coupons in a book at the PetSmart counter in a care bundle which is sadly unusable now that I know the companydoes not provide quality service .

Banfield lake Oswego is an excellent same day appointment veterinarian clinic. We had a really good experience there today with our pug rivers. Jessie who checked us in was personable and efficient. Andrea the intake vet tech took perfect notes was respectful. She took time to repeat back a summary of what I had said. Both Andrea and the Dr. Beckham understood my concerns and respected that I will continue the treatment path my primary vet has prescribed. Dr. Beckham was professional and thoughtful towards the treatment and what best to help her in the interim of getting her into our dr. I will go back to them for future needs if issues fall on a holiday weekend (like now) or when my vet is closed.

Okay if you don't have any other options. I recently changed from Banfield to a different vet and I didn't realize how we were treated like a number at Banfield until we were treated so wonderfully elsewhere. I think if you don't purchase a health program from them you are considered less important. We've had a difficult time scheduling any appointments that aren't very far out only to get cancelled or pushed for more important animals to be seen. Plus the only option is to drop the dog off to be held all day and seen at their convenience which is WAY more expensive than just bringing them elsewhere. I've never been asked to submit fecal samples, I've never been asked to allow them to run blood tests on my elderly dog. I have however been asked to add every level of monthly purchased health programs over and over again. Adequate care but if you want your animal thoroughly cared for and treated well look where.

My poor kitty was having a rough time and they were able to get me in same day on a weekend. She’s a super anxious cat (requires meds before going) and they were so sweet and professional with her and figured out what was wrong right away. I’m very thankful!

Do not recommend this Banfield location. I scheduled a same day 7am appointment for my recently adopted kitten who has an upper respiratory infection and other medical concerns that need to be addressed and they turned me away when I showed up on time. The front desk staff was not apologetic or accommodating despite me showing confirmation of my scheduled appointment (Photo Attached) and sharing my kitten's concerning symptoms (occasional panting, bloody nasal discharge). She just said "online scheduling is bogus and we have too many sick animals to see today". It was such an inconvenience making the commute for nothing and disappointing to have this experience when I felt that my kitten's condition warranted being seen more urgently, especially for an appointment that was scheduled. I work as a medical assistant in a busy clinic and we always honor patients who show up on time for their scheduled appointments. LO Banfield needs to improve their customer service and fix their online scheduling if it truly doesn't work. **After calling other Banfield locations around Portland and detailing the symptoms my kitten is having, the Burlingame Banfield recommended I indeed should have a same day appointment since there is a more urgent need to be seen. Sammy, the staff member I spoke with at that Banfield, was incredibly accommodating and helpful. She listened to me about my kitten's symptoms, recognized it was a more urgent case than a standard check up, scheduled me an appointment with them the next day, and even said she would call around to other locations to check if they have any same day availability as well. LO Banfield should take notes! **

After my cats untimely and heartbreaking death, I was told by their medical director that she didn't receive proper care by the attending veterinarian and care team. She offered to pay us $1,000 to not file any claims or disparage them. I couldn't sign my name to a document that included this:No Admissions. It is understood and agreed by the parties that this Agreement represents a compromise andsettlement of doubtful and disputed claims, and that the promises and payments in consideration of thisAgreement shall not be construed to be an admission of any liability or obligation by any party to any otherparty or any other person. What I wanted was an apology from the vet and to know what discipline, training, or procedural changes were happening as a result of their mistakes and poor communication. I was told that was impossible.I have waited 90 days to post this to let my grief and anger dissipate. We have been long term Banfield LO clients. Gone are the days when this felt like a small business and that you could talk to the vet and build a relationship.Post-Covid it's depersonalized. After dropping Lucy off at 9:30am with acute vomiting, I didn't talk to a vet until 5:35. Along the way I was told my cat was overweight and really could use a teeth cleaning. I was sent home with a syringe to hydrate her. When she collapsed I called and they said they were too busy. It only went down hill from there and 3 days later we said our tearful farewells at Dove Lewis.I didn't take Banfield's financial offer, even though we spent $7,000 trying to keep her alive after their mistakes. I found a new vet for my dog (who I also found out had irregular readings on her bloodwork I wasn't told about by Banfield until I pointed it out to their medical director. "Oops, they should have advised me about the side effects of her meds.") Poor service = no trust. In Lucy's memory I want to make sure others think twice about corporate veterinary care that prioritizes profit and efficiency.

This team is incredibly kind and treated my pet with so much love and care. They helped our old girl live as long as she could and as best as she could and told us when it was time to say goodbye. I'm forever grateful to this wonderful team. I feel certain, reading through the negative reviews, that the most entitled and demanding clients are the loudest. Lake Oswego unfortunately is teeming with the most entitled folks in the Portland area and are in strong competition for the worst Oregonians. I would strongly suggest this clinic and it's staff for the care of your pet. The check ups have been frequent, the care thoughtful, and the true love for animals is felt with every interaction. There are several Banfield's closer to our home, but we will continue bringing our other pets here in the future.
