Here's an update about slimmy business practices. It's tax time, right! So after all the crap I've been thru because of this business, today I got a 1099 INT from these jokers in the mail.Remember the free gift for signing up and opening a savings account. This is there version of free. They have reported it as taxable income for me, the gift that keeps on giving. Thank you Keybank, you f____g jerks!

A shout out to the teller Yusuf, who by all I could perceive is the only one who actually works there. This sweet young man was put in a bit of a rock and a hard place by me I'm afraid to say. I'm the mother of a special needs child who was recently laid off at my job of 7 years, and on my way to a new job. My whole family has been sick with the stomach flu and I finally got my unemployment check. I needed to deposit it as quickly as possible on my way to work but had not anticipated so much road work. All the jostling was not helpful and being stuck in traffic made the situation a bit more dire. By the time I reached the branch I was in incredible pain and in need of a restroom quite badly. This young man followed procedure as best as I could tell, I struggled through the deposit, went ahead and signed my name in a ledger that said "Guest" and I was the second name there. So this kind of thing does happen once in a while it seems. I asked if I could use the restroom and after checking my ID, he pointed me to the restroom and gave me permission and directions. I finished up and the woman who had been sitting behind his stand who didn't bother even looking up when I came in, with no greeting and neglected to help him find the papers he was looking for to assist him, or me. This woman is now glaring at me while I'm washing my hands. Only one question. Not, "Are you okay ma'am? Is there anything you need?" No, no. She asks "YOU KNOW YOU"RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE BACK HERE, RIGHT? DID YOU SIGN IN?" I told her , yes, I signed in, I have permission, I made a deposit. I'm a customer. She was followed up by an Asian lady who came out of no where, because she certainly wasn't in the lobby when I arrived giving me the same riot act and chasing me out of the bathroom. Yusuf was compassionate and though he probably knew he was going to get in trouble, probably even written up for letting me have the common decency of using the restroom without the need for embarrassment, the two other women certainly did not. Is this how they taught upper management Customer service? Is this really how you treat your customers? Jesus Christ. Yusuf gets a gold star for being an awesome human being. He gets these five stars, that's for him. As for me. I'll just stay on my side of the tracks where the Key Bank Tellers and Management are welcoming with smiles, offers to assist and superior customer service.

I have been a customer of Key Bank at the Bryant Road branch for many years now. The benefit of it being a smaller, more community-based branch, is that I have received excellent customer service on every occasion, regardless of why I am there. I have banked elsewhere over the years, and this branch of Key Bank is #1 with me.

I am not a client, but I have some old school savings bonds I wanted to cash. I called prior to going in and was told that under $1,000 I could redeem even though I am not a client. Awesome! So I went to the bank. When I arrived the woman I spoke to on the phone said she was just heading to lunch and the other lady who was there was new and wouldn't be able to help me. No problem, I get it!
I went back a couple days later and the woman, not the same one as before, was very rude. She didn't seem like she knew the answer to my question and told me after fiddling on the computer for a few minutes that I wouldn't be able to cash any amount because I was not a client. I explained that the other woman seemed to be pretty confident that it wouldn't be a problem. Needless to say, she gave me some nonsense about there not being any recourse if anything comes back so I would not be able to cash them. My Social Security number is on the savings bond. It is my name. I guess I don't understand the inconsistency. Aside from the second woman being totally rude I am amazed at the fact that people aren't on the same page. Then she tried asking me about switching my banking. PLEASE.
While still in their parking lot I called another key bank and they said ITS TOTALLY FINE! No problem at all. They are 100% able to cash my savings bonds even though I am not a client. Amazing. And shocking. Who would have thought?

I've been banking at Key Bank ever since they took over the previous bank. They've been great! Always helpful and courteous and friendly. Great customer service. The fees are becoming a little harsh though but they always try to find the best deal for us.
