Disappointing customer service. I filled out the loan app and sent required docs, and I kept getting, \\\"I'll review and get back to you\\\". No pre-qualify or qualifying amount after communicating for two months and all I got was a ding to my credit for because they requested a report...and I make over six-figures and have +840 credit score. Crazy.

I've had checking, savings, and mortgage accounts with Umpqua for 5 years. The problems I have with them are the following: 1) You can only use their ATM, 2) You cannot access funds from overseas (such as during vacations), 3) Funds transfer to another bank is extremely limited on a per-day and per-month basis. I wanted to move several thousand dollars to another bank but could not, or it would take me 2 months to move the funds due to monthly limitations. I am closing this account. I have to write a check for the balance in order to close the account because electronic transfers are so limited. Think about this when you want to close your account. It's quite painful.

I have been a customer of Umpqua Bank for years. I even worked for them as a contractor at one point helping put in some of the marketing technology into some of the branches. I do not know what has happened but over the years the quality of the service had gone downhill. I finally pulled the plug on the one account I had with them about four weeks ago. I used it as a back up to my main business account. I had not had a lot of activity on the account but I am reasonably sure I had used it in November of last year. I pulled up to the drive-in window to make a fairly sizeable deposit and was told that the account was on "Inactive Status." Which meant I could not even make the deposit. At that point, I asked to close the account. I was in the drive-in as I said and I was a bit upset and more or less demanded they cut me a check then and there. They did it and kept their cool so I give them one extra star for that. The truth is that I think that when Ray Davis (former CEO) left this bank it lost its heart. Umpqua is no longer the "Worlds Greatest Bank", not even close. There were other less than positive interactions in the last few years. It was time to move on. Hate to see this. It was a very good bank at one time.

Umpqua has been dragging out our home loan for over four months. And just when they finally stop saying “almost done we just need...” and tell us we can sign our papers finally. they come up with something else that takes 3-4 weeks minimum that we were told we didn’t need. I wouldn’t ever get a home loan through them again. They are very disorganized. Asking for the same thing multiple times and coming up with new things all the time instead of having a checklist in the very beginning with everything.

Justina Smith is incredible to work with, knowledgeable and empowering. If I could work with someone to help with my lending needs it would be her!

Jen was right by my side during the home buying process and what I mean by that is, was apart of MY team, even though I used the builders preferred lender (which I will never do again). Often times, builders (especially new construction) try to do quick closes without explaining everything out in detail causing confusion and ultimately frustration. Jen actually caught an error (higher percentage) when reviewing my documents with me that the lender was going to let slide through. I am grateful for Jen and her hard work in ensuring people receive the fair value for their investment. I plan to work with Jen on future home buys / when it makes sense to refinance. Jen is AMAZING at what she does! Highly recommend her for anyone looking for a Mortgage Banker / Loan Officer
