We rented a generator from Sunbelt Rentals for our wedding, and overall, they were easy to work with. We mainly communicated with Shelby, who was friendly, responsive, and provided some guidance in choosing the right generator size for our needs. However, there were a few issues that impacted our experience.
We opted for delivery, and my fiancé met the driver to ensure the generator was placed in the correct spot, but unfortunately, the delivery was a couple of hours late with no communication from the team. This was frustrating, as we had limited time that week, and the delay affected some of our timelines.
During the event, we encountered a small issue with the generator. One of the plug-ins didn’t seem to work properly, and towards the end of the night, all of our lights and DJ equipment suddenly shut off. Initially, we thought it was due to the generator running out of gas, but when we switched to a different plug, everything worked fine. Therefore, it seemed like maybe they’ve had some issues with the plug-ins previously and ours was another occurrence. This was a minor inconvenience that luckily only happened once towards the end of the event but worth mentioning since we were well below the generator's maximum output.
For the pickup, we informed Sunbelt when they could retrieve the generator, but they let us know they were closed on Sunday and Monday, so we had to call them on Tuesday for pickup, which wasn’t a big deal.
The real issue came after the event when we were billed for two extra days without any notification. Even though we had a contract outlining the rental period, they charged us more than what was agreed upon without communicating the update. Fortunately, we caught the error, and they were quick to correct it, but it was an unexpected inconvenience.
Overall, while there were a few hiccups, Shelby was great, and Sunbelt made the process fairly smooth. Just make sure to double-check your billing and allow some flexibility for potential delivery delays.

These guys are outstanding. Gabriel went out of his way to show me how to use the equipment and Richard helped with my return even though I was running a little late. Thank you both.

We have been here several times. I hate leaving a bad review. As I business owner myself I understand how important reviews are. However, the customer service is terrible. The staff are not very inattentive. There are many employees walking around acting too busy to take care of the actual customers. The sevice is very slow, with a DMV quality. There is the general attitude of "I'll get to you when I get to you." There seems to be real lack of leadership for the guys in the back loading equipment. This is the second time in a row I have come to pick up a rental and it was not in working order. This time I was told the previous renter used the wrong gas. It is clear the staff are not checking equipment when they are first returned. I'm sure there are policies for making sure equipment is returned in working order but clearly employees are not putting this policy into practice. This is where the lack of Leadership is at play. I hope this review is read and real change takes place.

To me a 5 star would be almost impossible for a rental company. You are trying to get the most out of your equipment and some of the renter's abuse it. So unless you are renting brand new equipment there will always be things cropping up. I will say your people get 5 stars from me
