I came in with my child and I kept saying how nice it smelled in the store. The older woman behind the desk (owner I’m guessing) looked up and didn’t say “ hi, how’re you, welcome in”
My child had a lollipop and he was being good, I even explained to him in the store that the items are breakable and to be careful which my child was the whole time. The older woman said to my child “hey bud can you do a good job and not get your lollipop on any of the clothing or fabric materials. You think you can do that?”
I wouldn’t mind this but the fact is she could have given good customer service first. It’s as simple as saying hello ? or being greeted. But the person that came in after us was greeted right away.
Welcoming and greeting your customers has ALWAYS been industry standard. It was this way a long time ago. It’s called being kind and welcoming when you run a business. I’m also grossed out even more reading the responses that the owner has given on her reviews. Please be a kinder human.

Awful customer service, dirty blanket on the ground the owner tried to sell me. She was the grumpiest lady I’ve ever met

Super cute shop on our beautiful Oregon Coast! The owner was AMAZING, friendly and witty! I think you should take the reviews about rudeness with a grain of salt these days, people love to whine and make up weird stuff. People need to STOP taking photos to try to copy her shop dude!! Plain and simple. My family found her to be hilarious and VERY welcoming…REGARDLESS of if I was trying to be her best friend or not, shopping her store was awesome! Her items were top notch and unique. Definitely shop this store in this very sweet and welcoming town, I will ABSOLUTELY be back!

Well-curated and interesting things. I purchased a cool tea mug that has a saucer-like top for teabags or to keep my coffee warmer longer.I do have to echo what others said about the owner. She wasn’t overtly rude to me or anything, but I just got the vibe that she wanted me to buy and leave.I always try to make friendly conversation, especially with owners of boutique-style shops in very small towns like this. She just wasn’t having it haha. Thats fine and everything, I just expected a different experience.I’m happy with my purchase though and I hope the shop does well. The stuff in there is just plain cool. I just wish the owner was a little friendlier.

I popped into Wisteria Chic with my sister-in-law - drawn in by what looked like some nice merchandise. However, we'd been in the store less than two minutes when I heard a booming voice yelling: "Ma'am! PUT that phone AWAY!" in a tone I wouldn't use on an unruly toddler - only to realize the owner (I assume the owner) was targeting my sweet, mellow SIL. I was appalled. (Here's the deal: there are signs asking not to photograph things in the store. Fine. My SIL hadn't seen the signs and wanted only to do some product content checking on something she was interested in.) She was swiftly given a dressing down by the owner that taking pictures is "illegal" (hmmm...against policy I get, but c'mon). When I responded with a "Wow" and expressed my opinion that talking to people (your customers!) that way certainly wasn't friendly (understatement) she responded with "Well, I rarely am (friendly)." Good to know. Good to know. We promptly walked out. No sales for her from me, ever. I was fuming for hours after this exchange. I am mystified as to why somebody whose livelihood depends on sales would treat her potential clients like the enemy (or criminals for that matter). "Wow" is absolutely right.

My wife and I had some great conversation with the witty owner. Bought 2 excellent insulated tumblers here, and would highly recommend this unique shop to all. It's refreshing to deal with a humorous, caring owner.

The shop is cute and the wares are nice, but the owner is uncommonly rude, and doesn't deserve your custom. Shop elsewhere.

We are from Chicago & visiting friends who live on the Oregon coast. Total spent $97.00. Our friends bought an adorable toddler raincoat for $54.00. I bought 5 small clearance items for $43.00. Each item was 50% off. I was also going to purchase a $6 keychain but decided not to. I told the salesperson I decided not to get it and said I was putting it back. She told me my total was $49. No big deal, she just forgot to take off the $6 key chain. The issue arose when I told her my total should be $43. She waved her hands & said, You got me all confused when you decided not to buy the key chain. I patiently took each item, said the price while each item was in my hand explaining the total of $43. I wasn't upset until she waved her hands again & angrily said, okay, okay, just give me $43. Her tone suggested I was stealing from the store & just to get me out of there she would take $43. I lived in Seattle, WA for 30 years so I visit our friends there & in Oregon about 2x each year. I really like going to Manzanita OR & will visit but will never walk in the Wisteria store again. The worst customer service on the coast. Extremely rude. I market for small shops like this one through social media and was taking photos of the inside of the shop to share with my followers- before I could even explain or introduce myself, the lady working behind the counter told me that “taking photos was against copywriting laws” and told me to delete them or get “arrested”. I have family that live in Manzanita and will never return to this shop. I encourage you to look at the other negative reviews and most importantly, the responses that the owner has replied to them with. That alone, says enough about who you’re supporting by shopping here.

Terrible service at this shop today. I came to leave a review myself, but… Go read the owner’s replies to the ironically high number of “bad customer” reviews here on Google. They speak for themselves.

This is one of my favorite stores in Manzanita! I find the owner to be welcoming and hilarious, so I’m baffled by the negative reviews. She has a dry wit that I guess some people don’t get. She has the most adorable selection of children’s clothes I’ve ever seen, and I always look forward to shopping there for my niece’s and nephew’s kids. The housewares are lovely too. She has such good taste and every time we’ve been there in December, she’s given me a discount without me asking for one. Charming shop!

Great little shop in Manzanita. The owner was very personable and helpful. Lots of unique, locally made items, which is encouraging.

Just looking turned into a fun shopping experience. I am taking home some nice gifts I bought here with thoughts of early Christmas shopping. Love finding local made or just USA made at this point. The owner was pleasant, helpful, and made my surprise shopping a fun occasion. I will return to see what's new next summer on my return trip.
