We rented a raft with gear to run the Deschutes and Dave-o did an amazing job making sure we were fully equipped. We actually took items off of the raft when they found out it was just two of us. We would highly recommend the Outfitter for renting a raft and or gear. Highly personable, flexible with our pick up time and the raft and gear were in great shape.

We had an amazing full day trip down the Dechutes, with Jodi as our fun, safe and knowledgeable guide. Could not have had a better experience! The company is organized and top rate. Communication leading up to they rip was easy; the equipment was new; they provided us with helmets, which the other companies didn’t appear to do. Our lunch was great, and they went over the top to accommodate both my vegan husband and another gluten-free guest. Really nice! But best of all was the rafting, which was awesome and so beautiful. We went through ~ 15 Class 2/3 rapids, and one pretty terrifying but totally thrilling Class 4. Jodi skillfully lead us through them all, with deep knowledge and good humor. Such a great day for my 14- and 16-year olds and us!

We did the 3 day Deschutes white water rafting. Our guides, Jody and Josh, enhanced the whole experience. The website doesn’t reflect the amount of preparation that goes into the trip. Bring a sleeping bag and pillow, if you want it. They provide tents, sleeping pads, dry bags, chairs, wetsuits and rain gear (if needed), and an abundance of food. I don’t want to give too much away, but it’s just about restaurant quality meals. They come with a ridiculous set up of stoves, coolers, canopies, fire pits — everything you could think of and more. They are incredibly respectful of the environment and campgrounds, from taking out every scrap of food to the ashes from the camp fires. What to expect is a nice cruise down the river, with minimal paddling and a comfortable setup once you get to camp. We went at the end of May so it was pretty chilly and you get splashed a few times a day, so you need something to keep your body dry - neoprene gloves are a good idea if cold. Overall, for the treatment received, the price seemed low. Jody and Josh worked incredibly hard, and we thought a good tip was very justified. Thank you!!

We went on a 4 hr trip which was amazing I had the time of my life all the guides were incredible Julie was AMAZING fun and connected with the clients and made u feel incredibly safe under the circumstances they offered all participants a 50% off coupon and encouraged us to use it on a 3 day over night trip. We had so much fun that we decided to go for it! When I called to book the business agent was angry and aggressive and didn’t want to honor the deal he even said no and hung up on me so I was researching other companies when he called back and apologized and agreed to honor the deal. Great game on! Not so much! We get to our trip and they put us with a first time raft guide Karlee not ideal but she was somewhat engaging and a hard worker to be fair if a bit slow. The other guide Kaya had quite a bit more experience and rowed the last 3 hrs of the trip. He played it completely safe it wasn’t exciting at all! But his customer service skills were awful!!!! U would try to speak to him and he would look right thru u and refuse to respond. I even asked him why or if I had offended him in some way he just said maybe I don’t have a response to u!?! Really? I was the trip planner and group leader and they barely spoke to me didn’t run ANYTHING past me the entire 3 days. They provided a toilet of sorts but told us how gross it was and asked that we not use it they wanted us to urinate in the river and try not to do a dirty until we got home because they didn’t want to empty it! Around camp they were unresponsive and didn’t really engage at all. They singled out one of my group snd sent her off in a private kayak the entire 3 days completely isolating her from the rest of the group I was completely uncomfortable with this arrangement as the group leader and responsible party but was not allowed the opportunity to voice that concern the guide seem to single this group member out extensively and I even overheard them asking her to come hang out with them after the trip I did not feel this was appropriate at all. He also barked at us when we pulled in at the company to drag our 80liter bags across the parking lot up the stairs across the other parking lot then across the street to our personal vehicles he wouldn’t allow us to drive our vehicles over to unload. Then once it was tip time he suddenly became friendly to all. This trip was a complete disappointment and these guides are not doing raft California/Oregon’s reputation any justice at all.

LOVED MY EXPERIENCE & CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK!!!This is in reply to Teresa's review below. I went on this 3 day - camping / kayaking (by choice) trip. I can't tell you how much FUN and what GREAT guides we had that weekend. I don't know what trip Teresa was on because I didn't experience ANY of what she was stating. The guides worked their tail off trying to give us the best experience possible. Kaya and Kaylee were very personable and super friendly. When they weren't in the kitchen making us food and cleaning up, they were sitting down with us chatting or playing games with us. What some don't realize is it takes work to put on such a good trip. Kaylee even downloaded music of our choice so we can enjoy it on the trip.As for Teresa's statement of being singled out with being sent on a Kayak the 3 days, this was by CHOICE. I have already been on the river 2 other times this summer and I received the opportunity to try Kayaking the river since I am a strong paddler. I loved it SO VERY MUCH that I wanted to continue the next 2 days. Kaya saw i was doing well on the kayak and I had been given the opportunity to kayak class 3 rapids which was AMAZING by the way. So much that I wanted to continue. I NEVER once felt singled out, I also convinced one of the other members of our group to try out the kayak and he Loved it just as much and said he was happy to have done it and had the experience himself. The whole trip, most of the group kept re-iterating how they DID NOT want to fall out of the raft and wanted it to be a little easier of a paddle in the rapids. Kaya did EXACTLY what they were asking. It was fun, we got wet but we were safe and secure and he didn't play it safely boring in my opinion. He appeased to what the customers were asking. That's also why i went in the Kayak, I didn't mind having the chance to fall out and get into it with the water & waves. I like a more wilder trip then most want.I was so happy to meet such friendly Guides Kaya and Kaylee, they are my kind of people.. friendly, fun, outgoing and just enjoy life and super positive. I think it is great that we can make friends outside of these adventures and not at all Un-appropriate. Isn't that what life is about? When we arrived back from our trip, there was a lot going on and another Big group was just about to arrive which Kaya nicely explained to us. He mentioned that they have to park where we last time pulled in so they can get packed up and loaded just as we did. I then offered to him that we can easily take our dry bags literally across the street (not a far trek at all) to unpack to make things easier and smoother for all parties. I don't think it was much more work then it was made out to be.Ultimately... the Kaylee and Kaya did everything right! So much that I am going back again and bringing a group of my friends for another round of fun.

Went this past Friday and was treated to an entire days worth of rafting and a great lunch. The entire staff was friendly and fun. Be prepared to jump off rocks, swim down the “swimmers rapids”, and raft into a refreshingly crisp Deschutes River! Our guide Amanda was incredible. She made the trip one to remember. Would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful experience during our time rafting the Deschutes with Raft Oregon. Amanda was an amazing and knowledgeable guide, going above and beyond to make sure our rafting experience was memorable. Lots of exciting rapids, both on the raft and to swim! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a rafting experience in the Maupin area. Great company!

Outstanding experience. Our guide, Drayson, nimbly gave the the pre-rafting safety overview for the whole crew today, and as our guide he was skilled and personable and always offered rafters options depending on the group's and individual's comfort level. An excellent adventure at a reasonable price; would definitely recommend.
