I was driving along minding my own business when my vinyl detector went off!
EVERY music connoisseur knows vinyl is the most sought after of musical experiences. Most times finding the vinyl you covet can be an issue!
Vortex had just what I had been looking for and at a price that I couldn’t match anywhere else!
Definitely the coolest record shop in the Pacific Northwest!

We love our local record store! Owner and all employees we’ve encountered have always been super kind and super helpful. If we can’t find what we are looking for they will see if it’s available for order and most often, it is. Love doing business here. Love the shop setup, great music always playing, nice selection and fair pricing for a small town record store.

I can say with confidence I have never been spoken to with such disrespect from an employee at any establishment let alone the owner of a business. He spoke to my sister and I in a demeaning, patronizing, childlike tone that completely appalled us. Unprofessional and quite honestly embarrassing. Don’t come here if you are a woman or non-white, spend your money elsewhere.

Quickly becoming my favorite record store. Not a huge selection by any means, but quite well curated. I always find several obscure hidden gems every visit. The owner and crew are always super helpful and friendly – definitely a shop run by music nerds for music nerds.

Love having a small, local record shop in town! Every time we go in there is something new and exciting on the record wall to tempt me. You can tell they put a lot of thought and effort into what they bring in. Great vibes, great music playing and a great staff!

I'm a fan of Vortex Records. The selection is good and the staff have always been friendly to me. The prices are a bit on the high side compared to what I'd pay ordering online, but it's common for me to find something here that is back ordered online so I don't mind paying a few dollars more and saving shipping and tax (as a Washington resident). A few other reviews suggest the staff is unfriendly, perhaps discriminately, towards Latinas. I'm not Latina so I can't say this didn't happen, but I can say the friendly person who helped me check out on my most recent visit was Latina. She was amazing and super helpful. If you listen to vinyl and come to McMinnville I think you will like this place. I have visited McMinnville once or twice a year for many years now. I've made a point to stop here every time for at least the last three years or so and have never been disappointed yet.

Not sure what all these other reviewers are talking about, this place is great! Great selection for a small store, very friendly staff as well. Reasonable prices, definitely cheaper then most online retailers. Definitely recommend and will be back for more!
