We went here for the first time today and were blown away. It was so gorgeous and the koi pond was unbelievable. So many varieties of plants and so much to look at. Will be back in spring to add to our garden.

A few years ago I worked with the owner of Southern Oregon Nursery to select a collection of various Japanese maple trees to create a very beautiful small forest in an area of my front yard. They turned out to be absolutely perfect and I decided I wanted to create two more similar areas in my back yard in front of our large forest of 50' tall Quaking Aspens, which I also purchased here years ago in 15 gallon containers. When I walked into their large front show room, there was no one there, so I waited. Finally, a young woman came from the back, and I asked if she could help me. I explained what I needed and asked her if they had a fairly large stock of Japanese maples to choose from at that time. She said, "Oh sure. All over the area and waved at their entire fenced area. You can just look around." Somewhat shocked at the lack of customer service, I asked her if she could show me their locations and we could discuss the trees before I bought. She somewhat reluctantly agreed to do so, and finally asked me for specific information about what I wanted to buy. I explained that I needed to purchase several understory trees to grow in the shade of some of my very tall Leland Cypress trees, as well as to select a collection of Japanese maples to replace some other plants to create that small forest effect. . We were talking specifics as we began to walk toward the front of the store and go to the large back area where the trees were, according to her, located in various places. Another couple walked in, and the woman immediately and loudly interrupted our conversation and started telling the young lady what she wanted. The young lady who was giving me service abruptly stopped doing so and devoted her focused attention to the woman who had rudely interrupted our conversation. I waited a few moments, but the customer service representative did not return her attention to me, and began to walk out with the new customer. I was completely ignored! I quietly said, "I'll come back at another time." The husband of the other customer apologized to me, but the wife who interrupted did not apologize nor did the customer service representative. They were so deep in their conversation that they appeared surprised that I was still there. I left and drove to Valley View Nursery where I purchased $2600 of absolutely gorgeous Japanese maples -- on sale at 20% off!!! My gardeners picked them up the following week and planted them. I think what happened was actually a blessing because the quality of what I bought was exceptional. They've been planted now for several weeks and are thriving. Next spring I have another area along the front of the house, where I want to create another small forest of Japanese maples. I will go back to Valley View Nursery and work with Jason, an expert with Japanese maples, who provided superb customer service in a warm, caring -- and very efficient -- manner. In the past, from the owner of Southern Oregon Nursery, I received good customer service which I rated 5 stars. This recent "service" was 1 star, if that. To honor my past experiences, I gave a 3 star rating but I will not be back again. This experience cost Southern Oregon Nursery a very good customer of many years standing.

We are happy with all the plants we have purhased from them. They have all been healthy and growing well. They have a good variety of all plants....and is our only choice when it comes to nurseries in the Medford area.
