I've moved a couple times, even from California to Oregon. BUT I've never had the type of EXCELLENT experience. I've worked in a exhibit trading show warehouse with Union guys, so I've seen how they packed, and move things around. These guys who work for Willamette were AMAZING! I recommend not only for your buck as all the quotes I received there #1 on prices and people say you pay what you get for well, in this case I saved money and it was a quick smooth move. Super amazing and will book ONLY them for moving.

I don't recommend anyone use Willamette Express. We hired them to pack and store our household goods and it was by far the worst experience I have had with a moving company. A two pack and pickup turned into three days at almost double the cost we were quoted. We had a different team every day with only the last team being a professional crew. The first day was four high school students that didn't bring enough packing material or boxes, worked extremely slow, and took multiple breaks to smoke weed in their truck. They didn't lay down any mats to protect our floors or put any padding on any walls to protect them from damage nor did they properly wrap our furniture which resulted in both of our couches requiring professional cleaning. When our household goods were transferred to the carrier that would ship them a new patio umbrella we had purchased prior to moving was not included. I called Willamette the day our stuff was delivered and Colleen was able to track down our patio umbrella in their warehouse and that's where it stayed. I called every few days for an update and everyday I received a different excuse as to why they hadn't shipped me my umbrella and after two weeks my patience ran out and I asked to speak to someone from management and was told they were at lunch at 3pm. I called 30 minutes later and spoke to the owner who minimized my complaint and was told to look forward to the solution. The owner stated they would either ship me my patio umbrella or reimburse me for the cost of it. Another 4 days went by without any contact, when I called I was told they would send a check to replace it (still waiting for a call back to tell me when the check would be sent and how much it would be for) Throughout the process I have been blamed for them not including all my goods, not once have they taken responsibility for their mistakes. They said I should've noticed it wasn't included during transfer. They said I dropped it off at the warehouse at a later date which why it wasn't with the rest of my stuff (untrue). They said they couldn't ship it because they as a moving company couldn't find a driver. They said they couldn't ship it FedEx because they (a moving company) coudn't find a truck to drop it off. Never once did they call or email me to update, I had to initiate all of the conversations and beg them for a resolution that wasn't "forget about your expensive patio umbrella".

**Update** In case anyone thought differently, nothing has changed and no one ever reached out. This company exploits and takes advantage of people in a position of need just to extort money on the other side. They know people go with a lower bid, but are ultimately on the hook for whatever the reality is. Competant companies offering a legitimate but higher bid look overpriced initially, but it becomes clear that Willamette is just out to bait and switch. TLDR - Do not use Willamette Express under any circumstances, most especially if Spencer is your estimator/agent. The entire purpose of hiring movers is to reduce stress and give you back time. Willamette Express and Spencer saw that the opposite occurred. My experience with Willamette Express was, without hesitation, the single worst customer experience I have had. We were sent to them through a nation-wide logistics firm. We had the local agent Spencer out to our home to see the site and provide a moving estimate for the home as well as an off-site facility. Our home was on a small access road with wires, so we knew a shuttle truck would be required to get items to the semi and specifically requested it. We paid for packing services as well. The day prior to the truck arriving, the packers arrived to pack. They were polite and fast, but it became clear that the speed was due to the atrocious state of the packing. What we did not know is the depth of the failures. One box had (I am not making this up) a pizza stone laying on top of a sledgehammer among a number of other yard tools with absolutely ZERO paper or padding. A computer monitor was packed in a box that wouldn't even MOSTLY close, and also had zero paper or padding. Several thousand dollars worth of speakers were thrown into a box with ZERO paper or packing. They are, predictably, gouged and cosmetically ruined. The driver called the day before loading to confirm the details. He had not been told about the site. He had not been told about the need for a shuttle truck. He had not been told about the off-site storage. The loaders ended up needing to re-pack several boxes. They would have re-packed several more, but we were not aware of the specific condition of each packed/sealed box until arriving at our new home. Spencer was called on-site to remediate the issue and bring more materials but tried to drop off a couple of boxes and leave. Once forced inside to speak with the driver and myself, he was dismissive, showed no interest in helping, and left as soon as he could. He called back later at my request. I told him the packing situation was being handled by the loaders (NOT Willamette Express associates) but that a significant customer service issue remained. He said, and I quote, "Your feedback is noted and I hope your day gets better." After that, he simply hung up. No apology, no ownership whatsoever. One would think things had reached their zenith, but it seems that despite our selling/offloading several hundred pounds (including a sectional couch) AFTER Spencer provided his estimate, his original 8500 pound estimate was off by over 4000 pounds. I am currently working to address this colossal failure as charges are based on weight and the customer is responsible for actual weight with no deference to the estimated weight. This makes sense presuming you have competent estimators. We had competing bids, and selected this bid based on the cost. This was clearly a predatorial bid attempting to do exactly what happened. We'd pick the lower bid, be locked in, and just eat the difference. As soon as the bid was agreed to, Spencer was a ghost. The nationwide logistics firm has stepped up and offered a resolution to address Willamette's failures. We paid for a moving service to save time and stress, but Spencer has ensured we have had exponentially greater stress and been saddled with several hours of my time now needing to be devoted to remediating this issue. Between the claims process and ensuring something was done to address the utter failure in execution, I'll still need to spe

I almost never write reviews, negative or otherwise. Sometimes a company gives me an experience that is so far out of the norm that it deserves a review. After my experience with this company, I felt compelled to share. I scheduled my move for a Saturday, about 3 weeks before the expected move date. The morning of the move, I was contacted to let me know that 5 people had called out and it was unlikely they would have availability that day to complete my move. This was understandable as life happens. Scott who was the dispatcher had let me know that the owner should be reaching out to contact me that day. I requested a move for the following day and they said that they would contact me in the morning to let me know, and that I should expect a crew between 7:30AM-9AM. At 9:02AM I was texted to let me know that the same situation has occurred and I would not be getting a crew and that Monday they would have more support to work on getting me moved and that they would contact me. I called around 10AM Monday as I had not been contacted and requested an update on my move being scheduled. I was told the person who handles residential moves had stepped out of the office and would return shortly at which time they would call me back. It's 10:37AM on Tuesday and I was not called back. This company is extremely unprofessional. I should have been given service Sunday and someone else should have been cancelled since I was cancelled on previously. I should have been called Monday AM to work out with me when they could get me moved. I should have been called back after calling. No follow through by the people who work there. No contact from the owner. No effort at all to showing me they wanted my business. I was treated as disposable.

Willamette Worldwide Moving company has a van that is currently blocking my business parking lot. I asked them to move (we have many elderly patients that need to be able to park in the lot as well as leave safely). I told them that they were blocking the parking lot to our medical clinic and that they could not stay there. One of movers said, "Calm down, lady - just knock it off!" I told him if he didn't move I would call the police, to which he replied, "Go ahead!" The police came and told them they had 30 minutes to unload and move the truck and they would stay and make sure our patients were able to maneuver around the loading ramp. They left after 10 minutes and the van has now been there an hour... I called the moving company and they said, "We'll see what we can do" and hung up on me. I've had 3 patients tell me the movers were rude to them and at least one also called the company to complain.

DO not use this company we are getting sued by another mover because they took money the should not have from us and we owed it to another company now we have to pay the carrier and we are essentially paying them twice. B King

We have used Willamette Express for our office moves several times, and for installing furniture and cubicles. They are friendly, and knowledgable and we have had a great experience using there services. I would definately use them again and would recommend them.

I simply cannot say enough good things about this company! We sold our 4 bedroom , three bath home in February 2019 and had been living in an apartment until our new home was ready. The new house is finally done! Our move yesterday included removing everything from our apartment, a stop at my sister's house to pick up a heavy desk and a final stop to pick up at a storage facility. We had done our own packing and had rented a 26 foot UHaul; however, needed the muscles and experience of Willamette Express to adequately pack the truck. Our team of two from Willamette Express provided us AMAZING service! They were polite, respectful and worked their tails off!!! We were delighted at how well everything was packed in the truck....they exceeded our expectations in the amount of items they were able to get in that truck! We now just have a few things to get which will only take a small truck. My review isn't complete without a mention of the administrative staff who coordinated our project. They were FABULOUS. Thank you, Colleen, and to all the rest. We appreciate you very much!! - Janie B.

Similar to other recent reviews, we found this company to be super shady! We moved in September 2018 to a temporary residence during a remodel with the intention to move back to our permanent residence. Knowing this, the "Sales person" Spencer Scott instilled feelings of confidence when he came to quote the job. But we too were bait and switched with the final cost being more than double what we were quoted! And to boot, when they broke our TV beyond repair and damaged our baby-grand piano, they were wholly unapologetic and gave us a whopping $345 for our troubles! Spencer didn't even return my calls - what kind of a sales person is that?!? Knowing that we would be turning around and moving again in a year, this was extra foolish! I am researching other movers for our return move now - sure as heck not letting these guys touch my stuff again!

These guys are SLOW and SHADY!!!! They will give you a really low quote to get you to choose them, then they will work REALLY slowly and make multiple trips to extend the time. Please please please go with another company!!!! I have used other movers in the past that were honest, quick and efficient. Also, please keep track of your personal belongings so that the movers do not try to STEAL from you. Yes I am speaking directly from my experience with this company.

I chose this company mainly because of their low hourly rate, however once we got done with all the add-on charges and their super slow speed, it ended up being no bargain. I'm talking about a full-day of labor to move a one-bedroom apartment! (And, yes, I had packed the boxes myself.) Lack of communication was also a problem.

I've used Willamette Express twice in the last 7 years now, and I've been really happy with them both times. Dave Jackson was my sales rep in both instances, and each time the crew was professional, quick, and took all my concerns into consideration. For this last move I was especially pleased with the crew leader Scotty. He did a fantastic job getting all the guys working fast and in sync. I also had a slight miscommunication with them about hauling away some extra furniture, and when I called the next day to ask for help, they gave me a reasonable price on coming back for a little extra work.

Great movers! Used them 3 years ago and last week and recommend them highly. On time, professional, and they hustle. Have recommended them to others without reservation. They will go outside of Portland. Will use them again although hope to not move for awhile! Thanks Willamette Express! Pam

This company talks a good game, but does not deliver. They will send a crew of 3, 1 of which will be a temp that tells you that they are never going to do this again. They will track mud into your residence, they will damage your deck. They won't move all of your items as agreed previously and paid for. They charge you a percentage (additional) to pay by credit card. If you try and rectify the situation, Colleen will "tell the owner" about your concerns but nothing will get done. Spencer Scott will not respond to your correspondence. They will take the money, do a half a** job (which is complimentary) and not take any responsibility for their actions for damages caused or time lost. Did I mention this was a family referral as well?
