My partner and I had the good fortune to stay at the Spoke'n Hostel on a bike tour through eastern Oregon and I cannot say enough good things about this place and it's hosts Jalet and Pat. We rolled in late our first night exhausted and they got us all set up and Pat even took us into to town to the tavern to get food! Their hospitality and care goes above and beyond anything I have encountered. The private room was top notch, the bathrooms spotless, great showers and a great breakfast to be made with pancakes and coffee. But Jalet went waaaay beyond all of that during our trip. I ended up having a crank come off out past the painted hills, it's a long story, but we were pretty well screwed. Jalet drove out from Mitchell and put our bikes in the back of her truck. The next day she let us borrow her truck so that we could drive into Prinneville, the nearest town with a bike shop?! The wonderful folks at the Good Bike Co. were able to get me fixed up and we were underway again. I am still in disbelief at how far Jalet went to make sure we were comfortable and to help us out when things went sideways. This place is absolute gem and Jalet is a treasure!! I am so grateful to her and her kindness and generosity and will definitely be back whenever I am biking through this area!!

Stopped here while riding the Transamerica bike route.
The Reyes family host for a week every summer to provide the owner a much needed vacation. They were incredible hosts, I was very thankful to have a safe place to stay after a long day of cycling.

What a blessing when hail and snow cancelled our camping plans! Comfortable, quiet and friendly. I haven’t stayed in a hostel in years and was nervous but this was so comfortable. The kitchen was a lovely bonus - made my morning coffee and hit the road hoping to visit again soon!

It is easily one of the best places my partner and I have ever stayed while doing trail hikes. If you don't mind sharing spaces with strangers, the amenities here outclass many hotels. They have a full kitchen, a rec room with art books, board games, books, movies, private bathrooms and shower, comfortable beds, and even a shared firepit, which they provided us with firewood for free!
But all of that pales in comparison to how comfortable the hosts and volunteers made us feel during our stay. We had never been in a hostel until that point, and Kevin and Mo made us feel very welcomed when we first arrived and answered all of our questions. The hosts, Pat and Jalet, made it feel right at home, provided us with multiple points of interest around the area for us to explore, and were genuinely excellent people to get to know and talk to.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

What a great spot. I’ve stayed in all manner of hostels - good, bad and ugly. Spoke’n Hostel ranks among the best. The hosts are kind and the place is neat and comfortable. We stopped here on the 3rd night of a 4 night bike packing loop around the Ochoco Nat’l Forest and it was honestly the highlight of the trip.

We tent camped and had use of the hostel for meals, showers, and activities. The owners, Pat and Jalet, are so wonderfully friendly and generous. It truly felt like visiting family, even though it was our first time there. Absolutely 5+ stars!

The owners are so wonderful. Sweet and pleasant to talk to. Very generous, opening their home to lodgers, even those who are tenting. It honestly felt like visiting with family.

The Spoke'n Hostel is a wonderful refuge nestled in the wild mountains of central Oregon. The owners are absolutely wonderful people who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The beds are comfy, the showers delightful, the hang out area is cozy and has lots of entertainment options, and the local adventure opportunities are endless.I highly reccomend staying here, and can't wait to return myself!

Jalet and Patrick were fantastic hosts to me and my sister as we explored the area on a four day bike trip of the Painted Hills Scenic Bikeway. The hostel is cozy, well equipped and welcoming, with many bike and hospitality themed decorations. We met several inspiring cyclists who were each completing the TransAm ride all the way across the US, and ended up having an impromptu dinner and swapping tales. A well needed break after many hours of biking and a fun time connecting! I can see why this hostel is so highly rated - the folks running it truly care and are very thoughtful in their hosting. Thank you Jalet and Patrick!
