“My friends and I wanted to visit the Hood River Fruit Loop and go apple picking. We ended up at Mountain View Orchards. The orchard was beautiful! There was a small field with sunflowers, a little pumpkin patch, beautiful flowers you can cut and pay for by the stem, trees with a variety of apples, pears, and plums, and a breathtaking view of Mt. Hood. We visited on a sunny, Autumn day, so it was rather busy. We picked our own apples and pears. Although labeled at the end of each row, it became confusing once you were down in the orchard amongst many trees to know what kind of fruit you were picking. After we were done picking fruit, we decided to go to the restaurant. We were asked if we had reservations. No, we did not, but there were numerous empty tables. We were told we could order pizza and eat outside. We had a pear pizza and a pepperoni pizza. Both were delicious. I went back in the restaurant to use the restroom. The tables were still pretty empty. It kind of seemed like the staff was trying to push people to eat outside. Overall, Mt. View Orchards is a lovely place to visit, and the apples and pears were probably the best I've ever tasted. We will definitely make apple picking here a Fall tradition!”
