Honestly, I've never had a good experience here. First, 2 years ago, I tried to get an account and become a member and they denied me after dinging my credit saying I wasn't 'creditworthy'. I wasn't trying to take a loan, just get a regular checking/savings account. I have been a long standing (10+ years) credit union member with my (still) current credit union in WA. I am not a risk because I owe some medical bills, student loans and old credit cards. At the time we were barely out of the pandemic- who didn't have to not make sacrifices?
On top of that, they have a complete monopoly here. I use thier ATM monthly to draw my rent out and lady month thier ATM froze and didn't get me my money. I had to wait until the next day to sort it out (they did, but not ok! I was devastated and didn't sleep all night with anxiety).
Today, I just tried to see if they would cash some coins in for me to dollar bills and they refused because I'm not a member. The irony! Sge told me to find a grocery store or cornstar. McKays is a tiny store and isn't a bank and coinstar is all the way in coos bay.
They are in small communities along the coast, often the only financial institution in town and want to be super exclusive instead of actually serve the communities they are in. It costs nothing to exchange coins.
Absolutely ridiculous.

We have had business with them for a long time but I really get very upset at trying to get through to them by phone. I NEVER, NEVER, can through no matter by land line or cell. They just keep repeating which button to use for your purpose and it doesnot go through, just repeats and repeats. Angry.

Myrtle Point Brunch has the worst customer service. Is extremely rude to me every time I am there. I went in with to do cash out of cd that was ready, when she is telling me it's not and then tells me he doesn't have one, when I handed her the paper, that has all the information on it. Then when I try to add money to my kids account, she asks for the account number, okay yes I get that, but when I say I don't know she tells me then I can't put money into the account. The I needed a check and it was over 500 and she tells me I have to pay the 5 for the check, I tell her no because it's over 500.

I thought I would try and manage my money since I just started working (I'm 19 and just graduated in June) but all they have done here is f*** up my account, not once, but twice!! The first time they locked my whole account because I used my atm card at the atm machine at my work, the only atm I had ever used, I had tried to call the help center but had to go in the building to have them fix it, they were extremely rude, so I used an online bank with no issues The second time was the other day, I went to cash a check from my old job and they messed up so badly that they had to take it out of my savings, and now my savings look like I'm in 800 dollars in debt apparently they either lost the part of my check they keep or they scrapped it. Dont let your kids open there first account here. If an online bank has better customer service and zero issues, then you'd expect more from an actual bank. If I could, I would have rated this place 0 stars but I couldn't do that.
