Mixed review. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. Breathtaking. Like look at the pictures, you can't complain. But the campground... Ugh. If you want ANY sort of privacy, or separation this is not it. From satellite view and website it looked like the sites had a decent shrubbery between sites, but there really isn't any. Also the inner loop sites are very very short. Even with a pop up there almost isn't room. Bathrooms are decent. So 3 for the campground, 5 for the beach.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night and it was probably one of the best State parks we stayed in. We left Cannon Beach and drove here as the campgrounds were either over priced or closed for the season. We arrived at this State Park at 6:30pm and the front desk was still open. We were allocated A20 which was a great site as we could hook up to the electricity and water. Also, for those interested, there are several yurts on site which looked great. The showers and washrooms are in the centre. No tokens and no limits on how long you can use the showers. It was busy during our stay which meant we could hear several dogs barking early in the morning.I would definitely come back here and recommend staying here.Restrooms: Restrooms in the centre of loop one.

The park officials really make you feel welcome and take time to speak to you. They also go out of their way to help you. I had this several times with various park officials. Mathew should also be mentioned for explaining the Oregon state park set up to me which was very helpful as a foreigner.

Very nice RV park with clean facilities. Short walk to the beach and just a nice place to stay. Hook up to electrical, sewage, water, and nice large spaces. Dog friendly and would stay here again. Dump station near entrance.

First time staying here. Was amazed at the beauty and the campground was composed of very nice people and staff. Full hookups and free sani dump. Firewood bundles were $5 for those who need it. Even when the rest of the PNW was under burn bans, this area was not.Beach access was a 2 minute walk leading to a stunning view of the coast.Lots of sites, horses on the beach and an airport. Don't get those options within 5 minutes of eachother very often.

Came here for a week with my family, and had a great time. Plenty of space, plenty of sites, and extremely close to town if you need anything. The beach is very clean, and the trails are well marked. The horse camp is smaller, but seems to have everything needed to have a nice horse camping experience. Very dog friendly, and the restrooms are very clean and nice. Overall, they do a great job here, and I have nothing bad to say.

Obviously the beach is the main reason why people camp here. This campground is huge and packed in like a can of sardines! Too close for my comfort. The female ranger at check-in was very nice & informative. The male rangers patrolling the grounds were kind of jerks. Totally see the “I’m the authority” attitude as they drive through the grounds. Ticketing cars left & right for any part of your vehicle off of the paved area, which is hard not to do with these tiny sites and a narrow drive lane! Also, the camp hosts (the female)were NOT FRIENDLY! Drove through the campgrounds a few times to take our garbage to the single dumpster and didn’t smile or say hello. In fact, she followed me (eye contact) as I drove by with the “stink-eye”! WTH???THE GOOD…The restrooms were clean and the hot showers were free! Liked the trash compactor and recycling dumpsters, but there is only one location, on the way out of the campgrounds. Every site has power & water!I was fortunate to have the company of good friends to make my time there enjoyable, but I would never book this campground again.

Stayed early July 2023. Weather was clear but windy; with a very cool wind. We were given the heads up to bring warm clothing with us and glad we did. Unfortunately, the wind (which was consistently strong for days on end) we experienced really impeded our ability to enjoy the oceanfront, other than a few short trips to the beach. The campground is filled with kids on bikes and there’s a really nice 2 mile loop through the forest for bikes or by foot. The shower and restroom facilities are looking pretty tired and really need some attention. There were only 3 of the 4 showers operable on the women's side for our entire (D) loop. They also need more attention on a daily basis to keep them clean. There also appears to be no limit as to the number of campers that can be on one site, so some of them were packed with multiple tents and lots of peeps. So be prepared you may have some noisy neighbours, but these seem to be few thankfully. Some of the sites are pretty close together with not a ton of green space in between and there’s not a ton of privacy. The little town nearby has a pretty good grocery store, but I’d recommend doing your major shopping before you get here. It’s a gorgeous area to visit; just be prepared for some cooler evenings and wind depending on the time of year you’re travelling.

Chillaxin' Vibes at Nehalem Bay SP----------that's what it's all about.Great vibes in an expansive , well maintained , and popular SP. Located a couple of miles west of HWY 101, this park is easy to access but far enough away from a major highway to feel secluded. This park seems to have it all.Great facilities that are decently maintained--restrooms, showers, firewood availability, dedicated campsites , hiking trails, biking trails , dump pots , access to the river AND a longgggg beach.Reservations required summertime and definitely recommended other times as well.Great for kids.Friendly campers at neighboring campsites. Very much a family type atmosphere here at Nehalem Bay SP.All manner of campsite tents, campers, 5th wheels , yurts , teepees and motor coaches.Inexpensive.An easy bike ride or a flat , non- strenuous, walk into nearby Manzanita , give you access to a limited number of restaurants and small , well- stocked grocery stores .Final Take----Recommended for a relaxing time for the whole family.

Not bad for a coastal campground, but definitely not my favorite. The sites lacked privacy and were small, there are no full hook-ups, and access to the beach was so-so. That being said, it was relatively quiet, clean, and the dump station could accommodate two at a time, so we did not experience a wait when leaving. There are a couple good dive bars in town for takeout and Manzanta is close.
