Alex, pharmacy tech in Newberg, went above and beyond to try to help me get the meds I needed for an upcoming procedure. My insurance isn’t covering a needed med and Alex worked hard to try to get me a coupon to help me pay less than $600 for the needed med. She is a gem.

These guys rarely answer the phone. I have had to drive there 2 days after my script should have been filled and it hasn't been done. Getting tired of dealing with them.

Really need to commend all of the people working at this Safeway pharmacy; they appear so short staffed and always seem to be handling a massive volume of community members and prescription needs.
I have found them to be courteous and upfront about what I can expect in the context of provider/insurance/inventory issues.
I always appreciate the consistent tact and patience they have while having to explain the broken healthcare hoops and limitations (mind you, all of which is totally outside of their control) to frustrated people over and over… but every time I visit I see at least one person directing that frustration towards the pharmacists and pharmacy techs who clearly are working very hard to help.
No they do not have time to answer the phones for customers while fielding calls from providers and doing the mile long list to fill your scripts, I don’t think any pharmacy does in 2024. Safeway should really step up and provide them with a dedicated, separate staff person or AI answering service.
Please be kind, try to be self informed about your insurance rules, and don’t use the professionals in our country’s awful system as your punching bag. Health issues are super stressful, I get it. But these people are trying to help, against every odd set against all of us.

We recently transferred to Safeway pharmacy from another one in town. We have found Safeway pharmacy is so helpful, fills our prescriptions quickly and the staff is very courteous.

This pharmacy is the slowest line in town. They routinely push out the day on which your prescription will be ready. If you press the phone option to speak to a pharmacist, no one answers and you are then informed that the the voicemail is not setup on the pharmacy line, so you can't even leave a message! I'm done, gonna start getting my Rx by mail...

Absolutely awful customer service. They always blame understaffing and long lines, but I’ve never been there in a line of more than 5 people, and they still can’t handle the flow. No answering of phones, no consideration for anyone’s time. Pharmacists couldn’t care less about you when they come up for a “consult.” Ridiculous!!

They will no longer take walk-ins for covid shots, even if you're elderly and can't figure out to use the app to make an appointment.
