My husband and I were there in May of 2024. I had been there before about 30 years ago and he’s never been. I was the first trip we’ve taken in over 20 years. It was amazing the service was amazing and I was just so peaceful and quiet. We loved every minute of it. We are hoping to get back to visit again in the next few years.

This was a fabulous place to stay with an amazing view and well thought out rooms. We wished we were staying more than one night so we could take full advantage of the beach access and firepit. The staff was very helpful and helped us get checked in after hours

A favorite “go-to” on the Oregon coast. A home away from home.

Service was top notch. Very thoughtful staff ensuring we had just what was needed for our stay. Location can’t be beat - waking up to ocean waves crashing, quiet walk on the beach below and quick drive over to the lighthouse and tide pools. Recommend to anyone needing a place to stay in the area.

This is a very special place nestled above Agate Beach. Service was outstanding - very friendly and helpful. The unit was comfortable, equipped with everything we needed including tons of extra towels. The grounds were quite pretty with beach views and a fire pit. The entire place was reminiscent of an older, friendlier time. I highly recommend it and would stay there again.

My husband and I stayed here just one night on our coastal road trip. Wish we had arrived earlier in the day and enjoyed the property more. Great location, quiet, amazing ocean views from the room. The hotel stairs to the beach are out but the public ones are right next to the property outside the yard gate and were actually closer. We couldn’t see the sunset from our patio as it’s too far north but a quick walk or drive up the street would have given a great view of the sunset. We had a full kitchen, very tiny shower, queen bed (super comfy), and living room, dining table. Nice and clean too. Tesla charger on property. We will be back and staying longer next time.

This was our 3rd summer in a row staying at the Agate Beach Motel, and once again the whole experience was top notch.
The room was in perfect shape and immaculate. We enjoyed the fire pit with s'more kits both nights of our stay. And once again, I appreciated the Dani bath products and Surf Town coffee.
This time we brought our dog, so we stayed in a pet-friendly unit. They provided us with special towels and sheets/blankets for the dog.
I have to give a special shout out to Paula, the manager. I wish all businesses (or the world!) were managed with her exceptional level of care, attention to detail, and friendliness.
Nearby activities: Just a few minutes away from Yaquina Head Lighthouse and a downhill walk to an incredible beach. Easy driving access to supermarkets, restaurants, and local attractions.

Agate Beach Motel is awesome! Beautifully renovated rooms in a cool retro motel. We stayed in a yaquina suite and we loved having a carport to park our motorcycle in. The views are spectacular! The lady at the front desk was very friendly and she showed us around our suite. Such a nice touch! We plan on coming back!

Our stay at Agate Beach Motel was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The room was impeccably clean, and the fact that they are pet-friendly made my furry friend feel right at home. The added bonus of EV charging made my stay even more convenient. The grounds were meticulously maintained, offering a serene atmosphere with stunning views of the coast. And having a well-equipped kitchen in the room made cooking meals a breeze. I can't recommend Agate Beach Motel highly enough for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with all the comforts of home.

We stayed here for two nights in March 2024 and really enjoyed our stay. The view was amazing and our unit was so quiet. It made the experience really relaxing. We enjoyed waking up and having our coffee at the table overlooking the ocean. Both nights we decided to cook dinner and found the kitchen to have all of the things that we needed to cook minus the food, of course. The motel is only one and a half miles from Newport and about 8 miles from Depot Bay both of which we were able to enjoy. We will definitely be back.

I almost don't want to share the secret... Agate Beach Motel was among my favourite stops on the long drive home from Joshua Tree to Vancouver, BC. The location couldn't be better, perched just above a spectacular sandy beach but the place itself exceeded my expectations. The suite smelled fresh and clean, unlike some of my other (more expensive) coastal stops, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything you could possibly need was there. They even left towels and a bed for my dog! In the evening there was a beautiful fire pit with comfy chairs overlooking the ocean... I'd come back here in a heartbeat.

My husband and I stayed here for one night and absolutely loved it. It's cute and charming. Nice private balcony and private access to the beach with a very solid staircase. Other closeby inns use the same beach but have different access points, and there were only a few people there. We were provided with a tide booklet, which was very helpful. Loved the ambiance of the fireplace and having fresh coffee for the morning. The only negative thing for me was the mattress was too hard for me and the pillow over stuffed. That's me, though. I prefer a softer mattress and thinner pillow. A suggestion I'd make since there were 4 pillows provided would be to have a couple that aren't as stuffed. My husband slept fine. Overall, it is a very cute place, an older motel that's has been remodeled while maintaining its surfer beach charm. I definitely recommend it!
