I was hospitalized last January following a fall from my car. I was also homeless at the time. My dog Scooter was picked up by your shelter to care for him while I was hospitalized. I had Scooter from a tiny puppy, he didn’t know anybody else. Many weeks and many phone calls later I was told the Scooter had been rehomed. There was never any kind of notice to me that he was even available, which is what I was waiting for from the shelter — he was just gone! I never got to see him again and I miss him every day!

Had an extremely hostile and unprofessional experience to the point where my mother was crying. I truly wish there was someone I could reach out to get an incident addressed involving one of the staff members at that office regarding a food donation. I understand that we, the ones needing help, should be beyond humble and grateful for anything we can get and give back to those in need, too. But by golly, it takes literal effort to be this aggressive with another human being, and it just isn't even productive at that point. Why is this kind of behavior okay, especially from you of all organizations? Thanks to the rest of the team for doing what you do every single day. Burnout is a very real thing, but I've never had any other person there lash out like that. Y'all do so much for the community. Peace

I wish I'd been able to visit the dogs, but I just stopped by to leave a donation of bedding for the animals.

When looking for a cat my husband and I went in to the shelter pretty much every week to meet and spend time with the cats. The staff were friendly, accommodating and happy to spend time answering any questions we had about the health and background of the cats in their care. They really seem to care and adore the animals. The place was always clean and the animals looked very well care for and were up to date on shots, flea meds etc.

There are great people working here. I got separated from my dogs while on a hike near Cape Perpetua. A good Samaritan found them and took them to LCAS in Newport. Because my dogs were microchipped they had my contact information and contacted me.After spending 3 hours in the mountains looking for them I was very relieved to know they were safe and well cared for.I appreciate all of the effort that was made to reunite us.

These folks are Angels! We rescued 9 kittens and 2 Mommy cats, and they have taken perfect care of both families. Everyone is spayed and neutered, and we just adopted the last remaining kittens. I am grateful for them, and all they have done. I will never forget the rest of my Demon Cupcakes!

After about seven months of being alone in the mtns on the edge of a vast and lushes forest I’ve lost my will to adventure my dog Timber has been absent from my side and absent of his freedom after being harassed for months and baited unto being trapped and taken from my property , timber was my girlfriends daughters dog inwich stayed with me while the sweet paisley was with her mom in the valley . Timber is a free soul as we all are every living thing by gods will . Ive been trapped for months with an anxiety of dangerous possibility’s that timber was able to make me feel safer as I forage for food and fire wood to get me through the winters . One day he was gone I looked for my little buddy for six days with little sleep thinking the worst thinking my dog was hurt by the wild , timber never stayed out all night he was always home by dark and this was my fault I some times would leave him at home due to work and timber had different ways of thinking he would set out to look for me up and down the hwy and every time just a step behind . After six days of looking for my friend driving through three tanks of fuel and calling his name to the point of exhausting my words I finely herd someone down the hill say the lincoln county sheriffs have been setting traps and baited him in all this because timber was faster and smarter then they’re controlling of animals officer . Some girlfriend and her daughter drove to Newport but only to return home without timber stating that they wanted me to come down there to sign for him and receive over a thousand dollars in fines for dog at large . I feel this is due to the fact that they wanted me to register timber with them and I refused . Timber was not they’re dog nor mine I fed him yes but he was his own soul and I would never want to be chained so why would I chain timber and when u register with another u giving part ownership over to them . This is a way of controlling people for revenue I’ve worked on my property only to take care of my father buster p Kittel and timber as well as myself . Timber was kidnapped then held for ransom after a week of work I finely got enough money to bail him out but when I was checking my calls I found a message from the lincoln county animal control telling me timber was missing I was livid I live I. The mtns I don’t have what many of u have but I do have trees and wildlife as far as I can see and timber enjoyed all of this but now he’s lost far away over several mtn tops and rivers he has never been to I set out on the back roads towards Toledo from Risley creek rd hoping that my dog would remember the smells of one of many journeys we took together I never found timber . Then they called again they found timber I was so happy I had tears that were soon turned to fire . They found timber less than a quarter mile from my property line and twenty five miles from where they had caged him he was homeward bound so close . I asked them why the didn’t bring him home and they once again wanted me to come down but now I’m worried now he want to trap me and after several weeks of stress and confusion I was exhausted my truck has issues and money was spent I now new they wanted me to to come get timber and the financial impairment of they’re ways to pay they’re bills fines fines fines . They lost my dog after baiting him and trapping him and wanted my money forcefully by ransomed dog . I couldn’t bail my dog out I hadn’t the money and they would not release him to any one but me all because we have had a difference of thinking towards gods will unto us as living people this is all because I would not tolerate nor conform the system as they wanted me to . Controlling officers stole my friend my dog my sep daughters dog my security in the woods my only security . I’m still thinking about timber and want him to no how sorry I am for now your back yard is not what it used to be timber this mtn will always be yours I just wish u would have been left alone

This is the most dirty place ever If your animal goes here and you love your animals you will get your animal as soon as possible these people don’t care about your pets which is obvious by the cleanliness of the property I have tons of pictures to prove

If you frequent this place, pray you get someone that has a knowledge of animals. There's an employee that has no idea of animal behavior. She totally insulted my friend when he was looking at a Blue Nose Pit Bull. The dog is 5 years old and when she seen my friend, she was exhibiting friendly behavior by being playful with my friend. The lady employee had it in her mind and was trying to say that the dog was being violent. The dog and my friend were having fun. This lady has no idea of the signs that dogs show when they are in a playful mood, and how they act.
