I went in today to pick up a prescription for Paxlovid (for Covid). First thing I did was go and get a N95 mask, open it, and put it on. I then proceeded to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription and pay for my masks. The woman behind the desk asked my name and birth date. She saw what I was there for and confirmed “are you sure this is for you?” I said “yes.” She then started backing away from the register and told me “We don’t have this here and you shouldn’t be in here. You should do pick up.” She then said escalated and said “IF I GET COVID, I COULD DIE!” My response was “Well, I HAD CANCER!” (chemo, aggressive cancer less than two years ago) I walk to the front desk. I asked for a manager, and none was there. A nice woman who witnessed this interaction approached me and asked if I was there for Paxlovid and if SHE could help ME! The clerk at the front checked me out (I was in tears at this point and I’m not soft!) I have NEVER been treated like this and according to RiteAid’s website, they carry the drug. I waited until after lunch and waited 35 minutes on the phone to speak to the Pharmacist, Marie, who was very nice and tried to help me. They are out of it and said I could transfer my script. I called Safeway and NO PROBLEM. They faxed a request for transfer. My husband went to pick up - because I was already humiliated once - and Rite Aid didn’t transfer. I, once again, called and they had the request on the fax and fulfilled it. RiteAid’s Code of Ethics, page 20, states “treat customers with respect and fairness” and they “don’t discriminate.” Please check the cameras on 7.24.24 about 1:15 pm to see how I was treated! I look forward to talking to the Pharmacy manager, Ing, on Friday and the store manager, Lisa, as well. There’s no way I will allow another customer to be treated like that. Why is someone “who will die of Covid” working at pharmacy? FYI, my doctor said if you don’t have a fever, you don’t need to isolate - just wear a mask. So - why was I treated subhuman?

The Rite Aid website will let you schedule an appointment for immunizations that they don't have in stock. You'll find out after you arrive.

What is going on with the Rite Aid store in Newport, OR?? For the past 3 days I have tried to call the pharmacy non-stop (not during lunch hours) but no one answers the phone. There is no "Welcome to your Rite Aid Pharmacy" recording, no options for refills or to talk to the Pharmacy, nothing, nada. There is no main number listed to call the store. I have read that Rite Aid has filed for bankruptcy and many stores are bring closed, is this what has happened in Newport?? What becomes of my medications/refills??

Troubles with pharmacy but this is Lincoln City, where pharmacies have issues obtaining some medications and any professional staff.
The rest of the store seemed wheel stocked and had recently undergone some changes. I wouldn't be surprised if he could buy a shovel here it's very eclectic.
what's this actually quite good in this small town with limited retailers offering limited products.
it's quite sizeable inside. Offering plenty of seats to await medications..... you'll most likely need one.

I really don't want to write any sort of negative review when it comes to Newport OR, Because they have always been a really great place. Even when I chose a closer pharmacy for years until that one closed down, I went back to Rite Aid and one of the ladies that has worked there for years, Remembered me and greeted me by Name. Anyways, lately it seems they aren't trying at all when it comes to answering the phones. I understand when it comes to being understaffed and overworked, But even just answering the phone and putting us on hold or allowing an option for us to leave a message with our question and phone number for a call back, would be better then having us call and letting it ring over and over until it loops back to the main menu just to repeat the same process over and over again. Especially when on the website or app where you can chat with someone, you're not allowed to ask questions in regards to inventory(so asking if they have gotten a product in stock that you've been prescribed) and other things, etc... it's absolutely frustrating... Something needs to change...

The pharmacy staff at this store is unquestionably the rudest and most unprofessional I’ve ever experienced. They blamed me for their mistake and refused to accommodate me. I’ll never got to this store or pharmacy again. Take your prescriptions and hard earned money somewhere else.

Did not catch the lady's name who worked 1/19 around 11:40ish am but she was horrible. She worked the drop off section. Rite Aid had messed up my prescription and instead of being kind and explaining the process, she was rude. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

horrible customer service and I’ve been waiting for 3 days to pick up my prescription yet all the other stores in the area are opened. I cannot even retrieve my subscription to take to another establishment that is actually open because RiteAid will not answer ANY calls.

Rite Aid Pharmacy used to be an awesome Pharmacy. Well I beg to differ now. My Husband was seen at the Urgent care. Very sick. Provider wanted him to start his meds ASAP. I got there to pick up the meds and I was told to come back in 2 hours. Wow. My husband didn’t have 2 hours to wait and we came from long distance. I seen many other people being turned away too. There was only 1 Pharmacist. The one with no personality. If you go to the Newport R/A you know who I am talking about. Not a smile on his face. Like a Robot. They have a female Pharmacist who is awesome and so friendly. But she wasn’t there. Maybe she got scared away. Cashier at the Pharmacy was extremely rude as well but this was at a different time I work in the medical field and I know how busy it get’s. Still show your Patients/Customers that you care. This needs to changeAdd on comment. My DR called in my RX’s on Saturday. Now it is Wednesday. I called. They told me it will take 7 days to get my RX‘s. I am out. Transferring to another Pharmacy. I am glad I am not a Heart Patient who needs their meds ASAP. Wow

We were great promoters of the Pharmacy for many years; prompt, efficient, kindness with a smile. Something has occurred within the last 3 months that has sadly, altered those incredible qualities. This time, very needed diabetic medication has not been filled for a week after being called in by the nursing staff at SPCH. Please increase your staff at Rite Aid. They deserve it.

Very unfriendly experience with the pharmacy. I won't be going back. The woman behind the counter offended by every simple question. Treated me like dirt. I'll never be back. Makes me sad because the pharmacist there was really good to me once before but no more...

Don’t go there for RX’s. I was told and not in a very friendly way to come back in 2 hours for my RX’s. Came back and my RX’s where still not ready. On top of that service staff at the Pharmacy are rude. No care in the world. They are dealing mostly with elderly Patient’s who deserve more respect than that. Other people in front of me where all turned away as well. Terrible service.

Why would anyone in this area go to Walgreens instead of this Rite-Aid? The difference in the service is astounding. We made an appointment for a flu shot at Walgreens, only to arrive at our appointed time and be told that they didn't have any vaccine. They told us they would call us when it came in. Two weeks later and no call. We ended up going to Fred Meyer pharmacy, which was another good experience. But this Rite-Aid was fantastic. We arrived about 30 minutes early for our Covid vaccine appointment and they took us 5 minutes later. The pharmacist and the technician were both friendly and accommodating. They have earned all of our future business.

Friendly and fast. Clean store and polite staff.Edit: I have been a Rite Aid customer all over the country and I have to say that this is by far the best and most efficient location in the country. The whole experience is good when I go to this location and for someone who has extreme anxiety in public, this place makes me feel particularly comfortable and not feeling so buggy.Thank you for everything!
