I see no evidence of Salvation Army helping the homeless in Newport, albeit ringing those bells!

I am so disappointed in the food that was given to us yesterday. All but two items that weren't in the sealed box was expired. Jesus said to feed the hungry but should we have to eat spoiled food just because we are having a hard time right now. I believe Jesus is sad.

Came to Salvation Army because my family was hungry and in need of a food box because our income has stopped due to COVID-19. I had suspicions b/c I am a member of the LBGTQ+ community, but I was greeted by Lt Nathan who was friendly and very helpful. No judgement, just professionalism. All he asked was my name, address and how many people in my house. Came right out to my car & took precautions to keep us all safe. The foodbox fed us for a week! Salvation Army helped us when we needed it most and they changed my mind. Recommend for anyone who is hungry and in need.
