When the first of the month falls on a Saturday or Sunday money from pension and SSI direct deposit will not show up in account until the 3rd (Monday). However bills that come due and are subtracted from account on the first. With Columbia bank account money from direct deposit was always there.

I needed a safe deposit box and my Chase bank decided to close the Newport office for whatever reason. I decided to go to Umpqua Bank, a reputable establishment and when I was in IT they were one of our customers. Great people. The Newport branch is beautiful inside and out and the service was superb. Could not have been a better experience. I would not hesitate to choose this bank as your only one.

When I 1st signed up with this bank the lady who helped me was very nice And knowledgeable making the banking experience very easy. Definitely not the way it is today. These days they are rude and do not have the ability or the desire to help. I received a call from frog prevention this morning and the lady asked about a transaction on my account which turned out to be a unauthorized transaction so consequently she blocked my card but was unable to assist or even answer questions about me getting a replacement card. Now I would think the person that calls you and ends up blocking your card should have the ability to get you a new card coming or least answer questions. But instead I was told to call a different number which I did and that lady told me I had to go in to my local branch to get assistance or questions answer. This is not the 1st time that the 1 800 number for umqua has been unable to help or as I said unwilling. All of this on a Saturday morning and now the only time the bank's lobby is open is limited hours on weekdays and by appointment only. So here I sit with no access at all to my money and no answers on what to do about the unauthorized transaction, if I get the money back or if the money is just gone or how long it will be till I get another card and can access my money to be able to live and pay bills. Talk about a bunch of In adequate, unprofessional and rude people I don't know how they claim to be the world's greatest bank. But that's a joke!

I don’t understand the negative reviews on here. Umpqua has been my bank since I was a teenager and have had mostly great experiences with them. Their apps are getting better as well. I am able to communicate with my bank rep anytime and she’s been fantastic. I like all the people that work at Umpqua.

Seems that there is no one at the Newport Branch there isnt anyone available to answer the phone.

My relationship with this bank improved significantly when I decided to become a customer due to decent interest rates on CDs. Summer took care of me like a rock star, appeared to be the only one working while I was in there, and also has an amazing rack. I think it's cool that they have a dish for water for dogs, or the bankers at Chase. Zing.

I have been with Umpqua Bank for several years and have not had any issues until now, and it's a big one. I notified the bank two weeks in advance of my upcoming final mortgage payment coming due and instructed them to stop payment on the upcoming autopayment as I would be paying a much smaller sum by wire in two weeks. The teller, as far as I could tell, proceeded to do as I requested. I even phoned the bank carrying the home loan to coordinate. Evidently, my request fell through on Umpqua's end and $1900 is now sitting in the home loan escrow account for a month. I needed that money and am under extreme duress. Not happy!
