I just recently transferred my prescriptions to the Walmart Pharmacy in Newport, Oregon and it's been great! They have all been very thorough, quick, and incredibly helpful with all of my refills and questions. Most recently Vicky helped me find out about a missing refill over the phone and as always, she was great!I strongly recommend this pharmacy, especially if you are new to having recurrent medications as they made the transition very smooth for me.

Good staff. The place is never too busy. Second in line is tops. Service is fast and courteous. The pharmacy area has tons of over-counter goods, beauty supplies, grooming.It does struggle, along with every other pharmacy I've encountered, with its computer software. "Med back in stock 1-2 days".....2 days later....."Med back in stock 1-2 days", ad nauseum.

Service has been hit and miss. The first time I filled a prescription everyone was friendly and helpful. I was even allowed to pay for my one other item that wasn't pharmacy related. Then I called to transfer over my other prescriptions. The woman I spoke with on the phone was annoyed that I was bothering her. She acted as if I was asking for a special favor or for an out of the ordinary request. I simply wanted to move a prescription from a different pharmacy. Today when I went to pick up that prescription I also had a gallon of milk in my hand to pay for. There was one person in line behind me. She spent a great deal of time explaining that I could not pay for my milk due to the line of customers behind me. I get it, policy is policy. But I had one perishable item, was paying for my prescription anyway, there was only one person in line behind me. It would have been faster to simply let me pay for my milk than to give me a lecture.

Vicky, pharmacy technician at Newport Oregon Walmart, was the most professional and helpful person I've spoken to regarding questions I had after scheduling family members for CoVid vaccinations. I've helped many family members schedule these appointments in different states, and have talked to a variety of staff at vaccination sites. Vicky was hands down the most efficient and respectful person I've been in contact with. She took the time needed to assure my questions were answered. Thank you Vicky!

I switched from Walgreens due to so many mistakes having my prescriptions filled and long delays, haven't experienced anything bad at Walmart pharmacy.

The service here is superb! The staff is fast and efficient, friendly, and always willing to go that extra mile (like calling your doctor right then and there if there is a question about the scrip) and they even do everything they can to get your scrip filled if you happen to have lost your scrip number information (oops!) The pharmacist himself is clear and concise with info on new medicines. I never have to wait long even if there's a line...and no if you only have a few items to pay for you can do it all right there! I'm not always happy with Walmart as a whole, but the pharmacy is top notch! Switching the rest of out scrips from that horrid place on hwy 20 to this place!

Techs were very rude and impatient, I had a very simple question about a transfer issue and she argued with me and wasn't helpful at all then abruptly hung up on me.

I have had multiple bad experiences with the customer service at the Newport location. The Pharmacist that is staffed has always been incredibly helpful and friendly but the techs have been increasingly rude and inpatient. It's clear they are miserable at their job but it crosses a line when they are rude to customers. I have been trying to get a prescription filled for over three weeks. I've checked in multiple times all of which they've said they are waiting to get clear instructions from my doctor and at one point had no information on me. I called in today as my 5th attempt to get it filled. They said they now have what they need and can get it filled. With all the hassle I've been through I asked if they could call when it's ready so I won't waste more time waiting on it, the tech sarcastically responded, "I'm sorry, do you normally get called when your prescription is ready?" I will no longer use the Newport Walmart Pharmacy. Fred Meyer Pharmacy is staffed with friendly techs who desire to help customers. They will receive my family's business.
