I need help please. My motor in my truck shot a spark plug out of the engine block. But it's under warranty through jasper's engines.
I dropped my truck off at north bend auto to have a new motor installed. I asked to give me a worse case scenario money wise with a cushion so I knew estimated ball park of where it would be cost wise.
They told me $2400. I said great I'll get my financial aid in a few weeks can we do it. They said sure we set the appointment.
The day my truck goes into the shop is the same day I got my financial aid. I deliver my truck and go in to pay. We'll now new amount is $3200.
The lady explains that they needed to make sure everything was taken care of and that jasper's woukd reimburse me.
I said ok and paid the $3200.
I get a call yesterday, and was told my truck is finished I just owe $1400 more.
My refund amount from jasper's is only $1700.
My fiance and I go over the invoice and they did a whole bunch of stuff to my truck and never asked. Even have it in text saying they will just tell us once the truck is completely
Am I in the wrong here?

We originally called to have a Jasper's engine replaced under warranty. They said they are a small 'mom and pop' shop. They gave us a 'worst case scenario' quote of $2400. We asked to pay prior to the repairs, due to knowing that we had it then, but may not later. When we went to pay, they told us we needed to pay $3200. They said multiple times that everything they needed to be replaced would be covered by Jasper's. We have this in text! When they told us it was completed, they said we owed an additional $1500. We contacted Jasper's and we were told that everything was covered and included and to request an itemized list. We did and they sent us some pictures of an invoice. There are multiple parts that were replaced that we were never contacted about. These are parts that were recently replaced within a matter of months. They claimed the parts were faulty and couldn't be reinstalled. They had been told multiple times that many parts had been replaced over the last 4 years and are under a lifetime warranty. They even texted us multiple times stating that Jasper's told them they agreed to cover the costs! Do not use this shop! The only thing they told us would not be covered would be part of the labor costs. They did not contact us at all to request our permission to replace things not covered by the warranty, or to even inform us.

I took my 2001 Ford Ranger in for a fuel filter change which went well and I was only charged 1/2 the cost of the estimate. The mechanic noticed that the "Check Engine" light was on and determined that the problem was a faulty ignition coil. Because the coil is easy to change I bought one installed it myself. The truck now runs like a top. My wife and I are very thankful for the expert diagnostic evaluation of the problem with no charge to boot. We highly recommend North Bend Autocare.
