“I typically only write reviews if I have an amazing experience or really negative experience. This review of Modern Auto Service in Fruitland, ID is the former. Kevin and all the folks at Modern Automotive went way above and beyond any expectations I had.

I was on an extended road trip when my Sprinter van experienced sudden power loss. I called several repair shops in the area. While most of the shops I spoke with seemed to want to help me, they said they were back logged for several weeks. I explained my circumstances to Kevin and he immediately grasped the difficulty of the situation I was in. Kevin told me to swing by the shop and they would find a way to fit me in. This was about 3:00PM. He explained that their mechanics were in training that day but they would fit me in first thing the next day.

I showed up at 700AM the next day and sure enough, they had me first in line. Modern Auto Service also provided me with a loaner vehicle at no additional charge. The problem ended up being a blown out hose for the turbo. A less transparent and honorable shop could easily have said I needed a new turbo. Which would have cost more than 10 times as much. By 4:00PM the day after the problem occurred, I was on the road again.

I am so very grateful to Kevin and everyone at Modern Auto Service in Fuitland, ID. I wish they were in my hometown. If every auto repair shop had the integrity, transparency, and honesty of Modern Auto Service I feel people would not dread taking their vehicle to be repaired.”

“I got kind of a lot to say but I think it's necessary I'm at Clayton the owner and he did several different smaller jobs on my multiple vehicles did a great job and couldn't beat the prices then it came time that my truck needed a new motor he worked with me on it and again without hesitation gave me a great deal through the course of the engine rebuild process I stating close touch eager to get my truck back I got to say there were times when I thought to myself this shouldn't be taking this long and it took a little longer than I expected fast forwarding now I have my truck back and I couldn't be more impressed and I use that word very heavily and with admiration my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 runs like it was brand new if I had anything bad to say it would be about myself as a customer not trusting the process and letting him do what he does best I Now understand why it is so necessary to build the engine right being that it is a dual overhead cam setup that is very complicated you know what they say expect the worst and get the very best I would encourage you all to put your vehicles in the care of Clayton Hunsinger at Palomino Speed Shop and I don't b******* so this is real talk. “Rick's Custom Rods and Repair have been wonderful to work with. I have a 1926 Ford model T. I drive it a lot. I can call and even on a time line they get me in. My alternator went out the day before the Payette cruise. They knew I needed one crome and got it in. I was able to cruise. The following day we had the cars in the park and got people's choice award. Couldn't have done it without them. I have used them a few times for this car. They are affordable, quick and they explain everything. They are knowledgeable and go over and beyond. It's hard finding mechanics that share your passion for history on wheels. I look forward to referring friends, family and those I meet along they way to them.”

“When our motorhome broke down we ended up having it towed to kenworth. We were happy we chose this business. Shelby was great and let us stay in our motorhome which made life so much easier as we had 2 small dogs and a cat. She was good letting us know cost of parts an estimate of labor. Chris the first mechanic was very good - diagnosed the issue right away- as was the other fellow (sorry can't remember his name) who finished the job for us on Friday when Chris was off. Thanks again for the service provided in a not fun situation. We would definitely use them again but hope not to have to.”
