Had used this tax company way back in the past when I was a single mother. Decided to use them to file 2022 taxes since they were a bit more complicated, paid around $500.00 for it and then come to find out after I filed my 2023 taxes that my Oregon Department of Revenue taxes were never filed. Someone forgot to hit the button, I guess? Would have had a nice kicker check refund, but am still waiting. Who knows how long it will be?! No accountability, no offer of any sort of refund for fee paid, no additional help. I will never use this company nor recommend them to anyone I know.

Myself and many members of my family have been going here for years, but this year we all had a horrible experience and will never go there again!
Absolutely horrible, undertrained and inexperienced tax prepares there now with an enormous lack of knowledge!
Also, with the exception of one person at the front desk, extremely rude and uninformed customer service.
Told one price and charged another. The most I've paid in all the years of going here and the quickest and easiest return I've ever had to do! Especially since this is the first time as a single mother claiming one child I had no income to claim for the year.
I was charged more than anyone else in my family who are working and/or have kids as well!
What a disappointment and a joke!
Never again and I strongly advise that anyone go ANYWHERE ELSE for these services! It will be cheaper and more transparent at any other tax preparing business than here. I can guarantee that!

Did not file my extension form! No remedy whatsoever offered. Got scheduled for 4/19 a day that they are closed. Did not inform me that my usual accountant is no longer there…Unbelievable

Hilltop Tax Service has completed both my S Corps and personal taxes for the last two years.
They have done an excellant job!
I will continue to use them annually.

Been coming here for years. Same with my mother. Never had a problem, very friendly service. You get what you pay for, and I would rather have a pro do it right the first time.

I got forced into taking an extension because one of the male staff decided he needed to take a maternity leave... A Man... At Tax time... thats your fucken job idiot... Fine, disagree with it but fine... Then seemed to push me to the last minute... literally the day before the cut off for the extension.... charging me full price for their services.... Since the last-minute filling I ended up late with payments to both the IRS and the State of Oregon.... Thousands of dollars that could have still been mine.... For real!!!.... Go some where else if you have more than just a basic w-2.... These folks are still in kindergarden... Dont let this happen to you... RSM

I have been a client for the last 2 years. My preparer was very professional and fast... I thought for sure I would owe but they found me all the deductions to give me over $1700 from my last refund!!! I am so happy I waited. They had so many set backs this last year that I was surprised at the level of detail and care they took in my small business and personal taxes. Thank you Hilltop Tax!

I dropped off my organized taxes in June. I was given the run around until I finally had to pick up my taxes the Friday before the Monday deadline. They made empty promises, lame excuses & their office had a coordinated effort to put me off. I was calling & emailing almost daily. No compassion when I explained that I was losing sleep not having my taxes done. They wouldn't even commit to me that they wouldn't get it done. The only reputable person I spoke to there was Myra who expressed her apologies but couldn't give me an explanation for their incompetence. When I finally picked up my undone taxes Friday afternoon I was told "look I double rubber banded your file". New ownership has caused this business to be horrible.

Taxes not completed on time and received penalties from IRS and Oregon Dept of Revenue. Hope, the owner, has refused to assist with the penalties or at least apologize for their malpractice. Phone calls went unreturned. Her response was weeks late just like my taxes. Beware, this company is so poorly managed I doubt they will be in business much longer.

Several calls over several weeks unreturned. No email replies. No confirmation if my company’s taxes or personal taxes were filed. Absolutely zero communication despite several attempts to reach them. Now I’m getting notices from the State for failure to file with penalties of several hundred dollars from each. Will I ever see my tax documents again? Want to have absolutely no idea if you’re in good hands? Come on down to Hilltop “Tax” service where you’ll get taxed real good. I’ll update this review if literally anyone reaches out to me with any kind of update from Hilltop.Update: Went to pick up my tax documents and spent 30 minutes waiting for them to find my documents. The entire time excuses were peddled my way about overabundance of tax cases to file, lack of experienced employees, server crash with no backups, etc.? When I stated I just simply wanted an update to reassure things were being taken care of the response was “It’d take too much time to notify everyone of progress.” Sure, but no communication, months after everything was supposed to be filed, leaves no confidence it’ll be done at all. I’ll be going elsewhere.

I am sorry to say this place has gone down hill bad! Previous owner was awesome. Dropped off my taxes In March of 23 and placed several calls with only TWO calls returned and my taxes still ARE NOT done in June. Needless to say I picked them up to take elsewhere.I don’t like to be leave negative reviews but people need to be aware.

*** NEW COMPANY - READ CURRENT REVIEWS - after the change of ownership this year, this is an entirely different company. I've spend the last week calling and emailing and cannot get a response whatsoever. BE WARNED the old great reviews are for the previous owner.
