Staff would rather not be bothered. They don’t accept credit/debit in a world that has left them behind. I know the government is inefficient, but if you need a case and point, visit this post office.

Very unfriendly and unhelpful service. I'll drive elsewhere just to get better service. This location also only takes cash or checks which is inconvenient.
