Working with A Cut Above Exteriors was a pleasure. I’m a retired engineer who has worked with hundreds of different construction teams over the years and A Cut Above has one of the most dialed in processes I’ve seen.
I initially met with Dan, one of their design consultants. He asked me about my needs and what I had in mind for siding and it became immediately clear he knows his stuff, backward and forward. He gave me all the information I needed to make my decisions and more.
Then came Randy, one of their project managers. Randy surveyed the project areas, took extensive notes, pictures and measurements and we discussed some challenges and how they would deal with them.
Once drawings of my project were complete both Dan and Randy met with me again, we went over their drawings and further discussed the details of the project. I knew right then that these were the guys I wanted to do my work.
Once the project began things went quickly. The afternoon prior to siding removal both a portable toilet and dumpster were delivered. When the crew (Nikolay and Dmitry) arrived they met with Randy to discuss the details of the project then went right to work. I was pretty amazed at the pace they worked. By the end of that day they had all the old siding torn off and had already begun installing parts of the siding system.
During the next two days they worked diligently installing new board and baton as well as vertical cedar. When they were done I was absolutely thrilled with the quality of the work. I couldn’t be happier with the results.
The next morning the portable toilet and dumpster were removed. A Cut Above Exteriors contacted me to schedule a final walk through with Randy. I had very little to complain about and a lot of praise. The one item I did mention was immediately remedied.
If you’re in need of new siding or siding repair I cannot recommend A Cut Above Exteriors more highly. Honestly, you’d be a fool not to call them and at least give them a chance. There’s a decent chance, if you don’t go with them, you’ll wish you had!

A Cut Above repaired a leak from a second story door installation along with siding replacement and repair of the water damaged attached deck. The team manager Alex along with Anatoliy and Vlad exceeded our expectations and produced a wonderful finished product. Anatoliy and Vlad went the extra mile to reduce wasted materials and excess cost. I know A cut Above is a more expensive option for most projects, but their expertise warrants the extra budget considerations. We recommend them highly and would certainly use their services again if needed.

My wife and I used A Cut Above Exteriors to put a new roof on our home. I have to say they were professional every step of the way and kept us informed. The work they did was top notch and I have nothing but good things to say about this company. They went above and beyond with our roof install and I and my wife are extremely happy. We highly recommend this company for your roofing needs.

They did a complete tearoff and reinstall of Hardie siding, with two new windows, as part of an interior leak repair. I was really impressed with the research Daniel did to help me decide, and with Alex's accessibility and attention. On the tear-out and installation, Juan and Martin were meticulous: it was a very challenging close-quarters job between a pergola and the house, and they were in and out without a scuff. Certainly was pricey, but feel like I got the value and attention necessary with such a tricky job of that scale on an old house.

We had a water leak at the top of our living room window. Based upon the superb ratings given to A Cut Above Exteriors, we chose them to solve our problem. The leak was due to defective siding which caused water to run behind the Hardie siding. This was accurately diagnosed by Randy, the project manager, and Dan, the design consultant from Andersen windows. The crew sent by Randy, Nikolay and Dmitriy, were professional and expertly removed our rear siding, which confirmed the original diagnosis by Randy and Dan. Nikolay and Dmitriy worked non-stop except for brief lunch breaks. They reinstalled new siding on the back of our home and answered any questions that we had. They also put in new flashings which the builder had omitted. Randy and Dan are experts in their field and kept on top of our project. They confirmed our confidence in their company.

Our siding project, start to finish, was an excellent experience. Project consultant, Dan Potter, was very thorough in inspecting the home and spent lots of time explaining the entire process to us. Project Manager, Josh Irvin, was wonderful, also guiding us through the project, continuing to be in close contact and sharing his immense knowledge. Our siding crew, Nikolay and Dmitriy, were outstanding in their work ethic, amazingly fast, meticulous, open for questions and showed great pride in their work. Our painter, Vlad of Cascade Paint and his crew were very thorough and also meticulous. All crews left the grounds pristine at the end of every day. Everyone was professional, friendly and great to work with, and we could not be more pleased with the result; our 35 year old home looks brand new. We recommend A Cut Above and Cascade Paint very highly and will use them again for future projects.

We purchased our 1923 house about 10 years ago, and after a few attempts to repaint it, realized we had to take the plunge on a full re-siding project. We were pretty anxious about the prospect, but ACAE quickly put us at ease.Bill McDermott gave us detailed information during the bid process, giving us a breakdown of every aspect of the scope of work involved, and answering any questions we had.Project Manager Alex Cowlthorp joined us for walkthroughs at the outset of the work, and was in contact regularly via text and in person to make sure things were all going smoothly and we were happy with progress.Dimitriy and Nikolay, residing wizards, worked long days to remove and replace the old siding with new. We were really impressed with how quickly they were able to turn things around without sacrificing any attention to detail or quality of work.And Vlad from Cascade Painting put the crowning touches on the project. Small houses have no less detail than big ones, and Vlad and his crew spent considerable time and effort making sure nothing was overlooked.Our old home is new again, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Weeks later, we still marvel at how great things look, and passersby remark at the lovely color we chose.ACAE did a truly fantastic job, and we'd recommend them without reservation.

This team was fantastic. They delivered above and beyond what I had expected. My siding looks wonderful and the work was done quickly and efficiently. The consultant, Dan, explained the overall scope of the project in a way that was easy to understand. The project manager, Josh, was amazing at facilitating all that had to be done, answering my questions and handling unforeseen issues. He communicated with me every step of the way. Nikolay and Dmitriy were experts in removing the old siding and installing the new. They are masters at what they do. The worksite was thoroughly cleaned up when they finished the project. I highly recommend them.

The team at A Cut Above Exteriors is extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. Our roof and gutter replacement project was performed timely with excellent workmanship. We will most likely use them again for a future siding replacement project.

We hired A Cut Above Exteriors all the way back in 2018. It’s now 2024 and I’m finally leaving a review. Better late than never I suppose! My siding looks just as nice as it did the day after it was installed and painted and I have had zero issues with the workmanship. I still smile when I pull up to my little yellow house after all these years. They installed a lap ceiling for our porch and we still get comments how nice it looks and I’m so glad they suggested it and we paid the extra cost since it really finishes off the house nicely. In fact I just did a hose down of my siding as I do every spring and even found myself thinking - dang, this house looks new again! The caulk is all still in great shape, the paint has held up perfectly, and there’s not a single sign of moisture or damage. We actually hired them to come do a really simple repair back in 2021 when the ice storm tore down our electrical service and they were quick to respond and come out. Felt my appreciation was long overdue!

This past summer we had Renewal by Anderson and A Cut Above totally remodel the exterior of our home in West Linn. My wife and I can not be happier with the completed work. Alex’s crew wasted no time and quickly were able to get the job nicely done, inspite of torrential rain, my questions, and my change order! All navigated seamlessly. And the results: a house that will stand up to the worst weather the Columbia Gorge sends our way. This siding will stand any test of time.

We just completed a redo of our 112 yr old tired, worn down old lady with new siding, paint and windows.From the beginning, with Bill McDermott as our contact person, Alex Cowlthorp as our project manager, Dimitriy and Nikolay Leonchick as siding experts and finally Vlad from Cascade Painting they managed to change our home into such a beauty. and we couldn't be happier. Their attention to detail and the obvious pride they take in their work is so very clear. The ability to finish our project as specified in 3 weeks was largely due in part because of how hard these guys work. Arrived at 7AM and left at 6 PM. The communication was always excellent and respectful and all crew were so patient with our questions.Cut above is probably more expensive than others but you definitely get what you pay for! We highly recommend this company. Won't go wrong.

A Cut Above did an amazing job redoing the siding on two sides of our home (along with addressing some dry rot issues). Their experience, attention to detail, along with open and transparent communication, alleviated all my fears. I am a retired engineer and generally do most of the maintenance work myself because of quality concerns, but Alex, Anatoliy and Ivan put me at ease right from the get go.
