Acme did an incredible job refreshing the paint and trim of my nearly 25 year old vehicle - they went above and beyond in every respect, paid attention to the smallest detail, and the results were amazing. I plan to work with them in the future on this and other projects. Cannot recommend this shop enough. :)Services: Painting

Duane was amazing! Super quick work on my Older G Wagen and super fair price on a small job. Would highly recommend. Sweet hot rods in there as well.

Duane is the man. Doesn’t matter if you have an old truck, a collector’s classic car, or something new; or whether it’s a tiny job or a full vehicle restoration, I’ve seen it all at his shop. I’d be hard pressed to find someone else more capable, thorough, informative and honest. ACME is a small shop so there may be a bit of a wait, but it’s well worth it if you’re looking for body work or paint done on a vehicle you love. This type work is an art form.

I had a small welding project basically a chair with a broken leg. I called up Acme and they indicated that they didn't have a minimum charge. I brought the chair in they promptly repaired it and for a minimal fee.

I have done business off and on with Acme Welding for years which usually involves bringing in some custom part of mine that needs to be fixed, they charge fair prices, get it done as quickly as they can (usually the same day if you get it there early enough in the day), do an excellent job, and are very friendly.
I would recommend them to anyone.

I never expected to find a welding shop on Yelp, but when I goggled "welding Portland" Acme Welding's yelp review was the first result. I needed a crack repaired on the Stainless steel catalytic converter from my Honda. I took it into the shop, very conveniently located in the heart of town, I found a very friendly little shop with two very helpful men and a friendly dog. They quickly did a beautiful repair at a very reasonable price. Great place with a very low key atmosphere.

I went with Acme for putting a receiver on my Lazy Daze motorhome because I know they've been doing hitches on that corner for the past 31 years I've lived in Portland. They've been in business since the 1940s and the two fellows who did the work for me have both been doing hitches since the 1960s.
I wasn't disappointed. The quality of the workmanship was outstanding and they are super nice to do business with. I felt their pricing was fair, and they turned the job around in a day. I'd recommend them to anyone.

I'm a 22 year old girl and while I don't look it, I am actually rather handy when it comes to building/fixing things -- which is why I absolutely hate when people take one look at me and then proceed to overcharge me and speak to me like I'm a character from Clueless. My father gave me an old steel coffee table that my grandfather built that had been sitting in the garage rusting for about 5 years. I took it upon myself to have it de-rusted, and after coating the steel so it wouldn't rust again, I noticed a little crack in the metal that the glass top would sit on. Not being a welder, I set out to find someone that could fix it. After calling three different welding places and speaking to extremely rude employees, acme welding was such a breathe of fresh air! They were SO nice and attentive, and they really took an interest in the piece that I brought in. It took them less than 24 hours to fix the crack, and he went above and beyond to make sure the rest of the table looked correct before sending it home with me. The price was beyond reasonable, and the table looks magnificent. I even took my dad with me to pick it up; he was even more impressed with them than I was! Thanks Acme Welding!

As Service Manager of PDX Rovers for three years, with a company that's been deep in the Portland automotive scene since 1991, I've seen and heard the scoop on most of the body shops in the Portland area.
Most have inflated prices, fresh out of jail painters, and severely lack the customer care I'm used to, joking on side that rainy days are good for business, as the days you are most likely to get into an accident. How predatory.
ACME Welding is no such place.
We first started doing business with Duane and the guys at ACME early in the decade, and have used their services for delicate painting of aviation panels and parts, to custom work on our Land Rovers, to repairing the body damage of any of our friends and customers, at extremely fair rates.
There is even a body shop within the same building as us, that I steer my customers away from, as ACME is the best of the best in regards to body repair and custom painting, and best of all they are very good people.
ACME Welding is hands down, one of Portland's best held secrets.

My daughter jumped on her bed and broke one of the cross beams in the metal frame. The guys at Acme Welding fixed it in an hour, didn't charge much and did a great job. They were good about teasing my daughter too :-)
