It is so hard to put into words exactly how fantastic this transmission shop is. Steve is Phenomenal! He answer's phone calls, returns emails and doesn't ghost you. I have dealt with other transmission shops in the years past and none of them hold a candle to Advanced Transmission and Gear. Not only is the quality of work done, but more importantly, they stand by The work as well as any warranties. I could go into a long story about how we came to using Steve and the shop but it's not necessary. Just know that you will not find a better transmission shop anywhere. Prices are incredibly fair. Steve goes above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of and if he sees something that is not right, he will step up. Thanks again, Steve for all that you did for us.

The best transmission shop in the Pacific Northwest hands down. I’ve been going to Steve since before I was born. My family has always loved going to him. He has rebuilt transmissions in our suburban, 3 explorers, Subaru, and now a farm truck I’m rebuilding. If you are a younger guy and have questions, he will answer them for you (face to face is best and buy him lunch). When he finally decides to retire, we will lose one of the best transmission and differential shops in the area.

Steve and Kathy give outstanding service at a very fair price. I just had my tranmission rebuilt and they exceeded my expectations! I wouldn't take my GMC pickup anywhere else! I highly recommend this place.

I took my 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 transfer case to have rebuilt to Advanced Transmissions, it lasted around 90,000 miles and it started making noise again, it was past the warranty for the rebuild so I had to pay around $1800 for yet another rebuild! My boyfriend was driving 70mph down the highway after around 20,000 miles after the rebuild and the transfer case blew out from underneath it! I called advanced transmission and they didn’t take any fault for the transfer case blowing! He told me I had to bring it into the shop so he could research why it happened! I told him the transfer case itself was in pieces all over the highway and I wasn’t going to ask my boyfriend to frogger all over the highway to pick up the pieces!
I proceeded to pay for the tow from Vancouver to his shop, then I had to pay to pick the truck up and tow it back to Vancouver for him to tell me he couldn’t tell me why it blew and that he couldn’t tell if it was the transfer case that was even the problem when we didn’t have any other issues with anything else on the truck!
Since the transfer case blew out from underneath it took out the transmission, damaged the rear driveline and fuel tank and did a number of damage on the underside of the truck as well as took out electrical cord also. My insurance totaled it out and I still owed after everything was said and done!
I called advanced transmission and told them my delima and they said since their “research” told them nothing about what happened they couldn’t help me in any way! They said they weren’t going to start an insurance claim with their insurance if nothing was telling them it was the transfer case that was the issue! The truck ran and drove for 20,000 miles just fine until the transfer case up and blew and even though MY insurance said it was definitely the transfer case that caused the damage they can’t point fingers.
I’ve never come across a shop with such horrible customer service! I would have been just fine if they just refunded my money but they didn’t even offer that! I will never go back to this place for any of my rebuilds again! If I could give this place zero stars I definitely would!

Advanced Transmission & Gear was extremely attentive, professional, and amazing help. He fixed my transmission and clutch with a warranty, they now work like a dream. The cost came in under the initial quote and I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you so much Steve!

I took my Ford Transit Connect to Advanced Transmission. From the first conversation I had with Steve I knew this was going to be a great experience. He took the time to talk with me and get the whole story behind my transmission issues. When I told him I was in somewhat of a hurry to get my van fixed because I had to leave in two weeks for a bike race I was participating in halfway across the country he assured me it would be done in time. He is one of the nicest guys I've ever met and I could tell he was genuine in his word. He hires really good workers who are also very nice and will do whatever it takes to make your experience a good one. I couldn't be happier, my van is still going strong, and there is no other place I would ever take a vehicle for transmission repair. Thank you Steve!!

I usually don’t leave reviews but I had to for this place ! After my husband and I spent over a week calling multiple transmissions shops between here and Vancouver we found that this shop was the most honest most helpful shop Steve was very patient with us answered all our questions gave us suggestions on what we could try and do before brining our suburban into him he went above and beyond and out of his way to not only rebuild our transmission within a few days because he knew we desperately needed it to get our kids around but he also went out of his way to fix our horrible real main seal leak and fixed another issue on our suburban we were having I highly recommend not looking anywhere else for transmission work these people at this shop are so patient and amazing ! I’m so glad to have my suburban back and it’s running amazing !
