My maintenance help has always been accommodating and prompt. I know that my apartment will be well taken care of.

I moved in a couple months ago and honestly, what a terrible experience. The day I was set to move in, no one was in the office or on the premises, and no one answered my calls. I had my belongings all packed and ready to move in, but had to scramble that day and night because of the leasing office's absence. I moved in the next day, but they made me re-sign the entire 80 page lease because of their error, with no apologies (not even a "sorry for your troubles"). I had to pay extra to find accommodations that night.
To this day, I have no way to get in contact with the office. There is no one there in person, none of the phone numbers work, no response to any of my emails. The only person I can get in contact with is emergency maintenance (a separate company, bless their souls). I have still not received my walk-through checklist for the apartment, even though I have called and emailed plenty of times. This is my legal right as a tenant and it is unacceptable (and against the law).
My refrigerator currently is broken and is not keeping food cold- ice cream is always liquid and all of my food spoils right away. My washing machine leaks water all over the floor every time I use it. I am still not included on the apartment call box.
This entire experience has been horrible and I can't believe Thrive/Anthology can get away with this. Stay far away from this company, you will regret it. Such a shame.

I have been trying to communicate with this property for months and it has been a mess. I finally was in town for a tour that I flew over 2000 miles for and management didn't show up to my scheduled appointment. I didn't hear anything back until the following week, when I had already flown home. No one answered my calls, returned them, emailed, not even an automatic email. Not one person was on the property to reach out to me?
If this management team can't communicate with people who want to live here (new business), how can anyone trust that they will be responsive when needed as a tenant?

Impossible to reach anyone in this place. They seem to have available units but when called, no one answers. When emailed, no one answers. Also no one to be found in the office during their posted business hours... How are we supposed to consider renting here if we can't find anyone to answer our questions? If it's this bad before you rent, how much worse will it be after renting? I believe the recent reviews that say how bad they are at responding to tenants requests...

This has been the worst place I have ever lived. Management doesn’t exist or respond to emails. The phone is never answered. Our unit was covered in glass, human hair, and dust. Our titanium locked bike was stolen within 24hrs out of the bike room that was left unlocked by staff. Our refrigerator was broken for two months before they replaced it. Our ac unit was leaking large amounts of water despite being assured the issue was fixed when we brought up the apparent recent damage. It also took them 5 days to come to look at. We have had our time wasted, been lied to, ghosted, and stolen from in our own home. Despite their claims to want to make things better we have not heard from the PM in two weeks despite her saying she would follow up on our request to have the unit professionally cleaned as at this point we have exhausted our abilities to get this place livable. At this point we have reached out to the Oregon state bar to get legal counsel on our rights as tenants. Luckily they have breached our lease enough times and hopefully we should have a minimal fight. This place isn’t worth the emotional duress.

I wouldn’t live here. This apartment is absolutely horrendous. Our A/C was broken for a month and was NEVER fixed. It was leaking water for a month above our tv and ruined our furniture. We reported it but no one came by and we ended up moving out due to our lease ending. A few months before our lease ended, they sent a letter for us to renew our lease but the rent increased from $1820 to $1920. We were told we were getting a discounted rate from what it would be if we were new tenants. I attempted to negotiate a lower amount because vacant apartments on our floor were, at the time, listed for less than $1920. When I confronted them about it, they said they’ll follow up but never did. We moved out and our exact apartment was listed for $1870 so they lied about giving us a discounted rate (which I feel like has to be illegal). After moving they told us we owed over $500 for last month’s rent even though we paid. We worked with their internal billing company to request a ledger because we had no idea what the charge was for and they never sent one. After months of requesting a ledger with no response, they sent us to collections. When I emailed saying I was reaching out to a lawyer they finally got back to me saying we owe $165 not $500 and they’ll be changing it with the collections team. They said it was for electricity and water but we paid electricity with PGE and the communal electricity and water we usually paid was never over $70. When we asked for proof of the charge after filing a dispute, we never heard from the collection folks again after one call of them trying to illegally intimidate us into paying (even threatening to raise the charge back to $500.) This process started last year and August and was somewhat resolved this year in January (and by resolved I mean the collections folks stop calling.) These apartments are not worth it. Management is awful and conniving. We were lied to and attempted to be manipulated in renewing our lease. I was once profiled by a previous Housing Manager about living there and was denied entry into the building until I said my name and apartment number for her to look up in the system - even though I had a key fob. The elevator was broken often with no urgency to fix it, which literally made the building not accessible for folks who couldn’t take the stairs. The Managers were never present and the phone was never picked up. They do random apartment checks during the time of your lease and there are no real amenities to justify the price in comparison to other luxury apartments in their price range. Also the traffic and trucks at 3AM will wake you up! Save yourself the headache, prioritize your peace, a go somewhere else where people won’t lie, intimidate, profile, and try to steal from you.

Love the location but the property is terribly mismanaged. The rent is high but the leasing company still penny piches. They make tenants pay monthly utility fees for things like running the lights in the hallways. The utility service is aptly named "Conservice".The hardest part about living at Anthology was that the office was almost never occupied during "open" hours and the managment never answers the phone, even during regular business hours. On top of this my bicycle was stolen from the locked bike storage which requires fab access. It is also worth mentioning that my dishwasher never reliably worked and my washer was broken for over a month before it was replaced by a working unit. It's easy to be swayed by the trendy location and natural light but take it from a tenant who has lived in the Portland area for over a decade... skip this rental option and protect your peace.

RUN - Do not move here, the poor management and business practices are not worth it. There are much better options for the same price range on division st. My friends lived here for 1 year 2022-2023 and there were so many problems. Their A/C leaked for a month before move out even though maintenance knew immediately. There was racial profiling at the door, with the community manager questioning them if they lived there and they were blocked from entering because the community manager "didn't recognize them". They denied providing financial documents like ledgers (ILLEGAL), conducted a move out inspection without notice (ILLEGAL), AND charged them after move out for no known reason. Since July they have not provided a reason for the charge or a ledger BUT they have placed the charge into debt collections to pressure them. Please save yourself the legal fees and trouble with this place. It may have been a good apartment at one time, but things have obviously changed.

My partner and I lived here for one year and the communication was next to none the whole time. The Community Manager when we moved in was Allyssa and she was amazing! Before we knew it, she was gone and we never got an update on who the new CM was until a week before we put in our notice. We moved out a month ago and Anthology owes us a balance of $2,565.33 - This has still NOT BEEN PAID! Additionally, we were told there would need to be a pre-move out inspection and a final move-out inspection until the day of our move when we were refused a final inspection. I will add that the pre-move out inspector said we would NOT be charged for anything after move-out. We received a bill for $198 today after being told we would not be charged AND not being paid our $2,565.33 in over a month.

Try to avoid living here and do any business with them, since mid 2022 the Anthology on Division apartments are now owned by Thrive Communities (look at the reviews of this company in Google, it has 3.1 stars, there's a reason) Before I moved here it was owned by another company that did things better. One of the issues I had with them was that on November 28th I called the billing department because after communicating them that I was vacating my apartment on November 16 they're trying to charge me $100 late fee as part of the move out charges. before the end of the month on October I contacted the person on charge of the building in reference to the balance owed for the next month, since it didn't show up in the Anthology division resident login page where I've been making the payments on time every month since I moved, this person told me to wait until the final balance was calculated to pay it, and not to worry about it, but now the final balance includes a late fee of $100!!! Like I said, I've been living in that apartment for 16months and I paid every single month on time, and now because one of their employees is poorly trained and advised me incorrectly I have to pay $100 extra, unbelievable.I hope I didn't sound like someone who likes to just complain, seriously they don't care about the people living there, they just want your money and they don't care about you, it's hard for me to believe a company like this exist in a place like Portland, these are the kind of people who are damaging the city.

One of the worst places I have lived. Management is all but nonexistent, never in the office. Apartments are small, fridge is half size, no amenities, but the worst part about this place is the abysmal mail system. Mail is just thrown in the front room, we have had 6 packages stolen since living here. Management refuses to do literally anything about it. My recommendation? Look for other places. One that will listen to their residents.
