Unfortunately over the years Barbur vet has gone down hill. They were originally recommended because they allowed me to hold my pup for his vaccines since he's nervous with new people. He had a traumatic experience at another vet that insisted on sedating him to see him and has been wary of vets since. Because he's a pit mix the Dr's at Barbur have all reacted negatively to his appearance assuming he would be aggressive and continuously ignored my request to avoid eye contact with him and just focus on treats. He has always picked up on their nervousness with his breed. Now theyre insisting on sedating him to see him which is completely unnecessary since he's gone years without and had great visits with a lot of the staff at Barbur. Now the majority of the original staff has filtered out and they dont seem to take the care my pup needs to feel comfortable. I will not be returning or referring my grooming clientele to this vet!

We absolutely love this office and our vet. She is outstanding and not pushy. My little girl broke a claw past the quick and she was able to see her the next day. Would ? recommend.

Amazing Vet! The staff is so wonderful and friendly! They truly care for your pet. Saved my cat and helped coordinate transfer to an ICU when they were in a dire situation. Couldn't be more happy with their after care and check ups. They were also so amazing and helpful during COVID restrictions offering video call ins and picking up your pet from the parking lot. Understanding with anxious pets. I trust their care with both my pets and recommend them to all!

Compassionate staff, took extra care to gently manage my usually terrified cat. ( she was feral her first 18 months, I don't know who scared her so badly then, but not BarburVet)

The front office staff is great. Unfortunately, when we came in with a chicken that wouldn't eat and had gotten dangerously thin, the only advice we could get (after an in-person visit, multiple follow-up calls and emails over a full work week) was a generic statement to follow standard nutrition protocols and feed a formulated food... exactly what our girl has had her whole life. It was a bit surreal, since the in-office experience seemed positive and the office staff confirmed that, yes, we hadn't gotten any guidance on what to do for our chicken that was in the office precisely because she wouldn't eat the standard formulated food. The treatment records also said we had declined a testing protocol that we were not told about, and the vet did not respond when I asked for clarification on this point. All-in-all, it was the first time I've ever had a vet functionally ghost me. Again, I want to stress that the office staff is lovely, and I appreciated their sympathy and efforts to track down the doctor for actual advice.

The vet, vet techs, and office staff are compassionate, knowledgeable, and helpful people who clearly love animals. They are very on top of their schedule; we haven’t had to wait more then 5min after my cat’s appointment time for him to be seen. The prices are similar to vets in the area and unlike other vets I’ve gone to, Barbur Blvd Vet’s service is actually worth the cost.

One of the best veterinary offices I've ever dealt with. Be patient with them, they are very busy these days.

Really nice clinic. Front office staff is so helpful & personable. Weird parking lot, but they have 2! Don't park on the slim Barbur side, it's terrifying!! My pug appreciated the non-slip pad on the table & no perfume on her tooshy after having her glands expressed!! All around great experience to establish care.

Took my cat in to have her cancer diagnosed. $500 later I have no idea what kind of cancer she has or how long she has to live. Dr. crushed the sample and it couldn't be used at the lab for diagnosis. I decided not to put my elderly cat through that again. the fees they charge are ridiculous and they make you come in multiple times starting at $90 each time. how immoral, I should have been given a refund. she did absolutely nothing other than look at her and say yep it's cancer. I already knew that.My other larger cat needs his teeth cleaned but they want separate visits for bloodwork etc before. I have to get an uber each time for over $60 per visit. He's a big boy and she couldn't handle giving him a shot or taking blood. If you can't handle a squirming angry cat don't be a vet. again over $200 later all he had was a rabies shot he didn't need because he's an indoor cat. I'm left without a vet because I'm still looking. I really can't recommend this place, I won't be back.

Took my dog in and they seemed scared to interact with him. He is shy but the sweetest. They made me hold him for shots..like isn’t that your job? Seemed to freak out when they missed their initial up the nose shot..which startled my dog and made it worse for me to hold. No discount for doing their job either. Maybe you shouldn’t be a vet if you cannot handle a dog who is nervous.

They offered quick and effective care for Penelope and were patient with her when she was spirted (but feisty) on her follow up visit. First time I've felt certain which vet I want to use in the future.
