As a regular customer, I was a bit annoyed this morning when the woman at the cash register asked me for identification. I'm a regular customer that spends at least $100 a week in your store. This never happens to me. The woman appeared quite apologetic, and hinted that she would get in trouble if she didn't ask me. Since you are so concerned about regular customers scamming you, what about the opposite? What about when one of your cashiers tries to rip one of your regular customers off by sneaking a bogus charge in the bill? That's what happened to me a few weeks ago at the hands of a young woman cashier who dies her hair in different colors. I let it slide at the time. But since I was antagonized this morning: here it is for everyone to see. Be careful with the young woman cashier with multicolored hair...she might try to scam you at Barbur Foods.

I've got to start out with a compliment. The pastry's that you folks make are excellent. Very good. The meat counter is amazing too. Wonderful fresh produce. Now the one star stuff . Dec 19th I ordered just one katayek from the deli counter. I had never had one and it looked so good, fresh and plump! It was delicious to the point of me raving to my friends about it. I was having a small dinner party Dec 21st, just two days later. I was looking for the Katayek, I couldn't see it imediat. There were probably 10 on the plate in the case, They looked completely different from just a 2 days before. Smaller for sure. I thought it was probably a different person who put them together. I pushed down the bad feelings I had about it.. made excuses. I got 5 of them. 20 bucks, which, right now, sad to say, is a really big deal to me. Im 99% certain these had been left over from the 19th. Nothing wrong with that if it can hold up. The filling was crusted over, nothing light about it. I was hoping if I set them out at room temp thru dinner that they would soften up. They didn't. at least the rose water was great. It's hit or miss in the the deli. There were other items in the past few weeks that have been flavorless or just dead, as in overcooked or over exposed in the steam or heat table. What is happening! The Quiche was flavorless, the carrots drooped across my fork, flavorless, the chicken wings were covered in blobs of sauce (blobs),

They have a huge wine selection and beer selection but they didn't have Michelob Ultra Light. They have a butcher block and a deli and the cashiers are very friendly but the prices are way too high. If you need something in a pinch, otherwise I would not shop here. Especially since Miles passed away so many years ago he was the best butcher Barber Foods ever had

Polite, friendly, cheerful employees; almost always have a pleasant experience here:) Prices can be a little high(compared with usual places I shop(Safeway, WinCo, & such)but you get what you pay for. Awesome(AWESOME) fruit selection, all reasonably priced, and the employees are super helpful and knowledgeable; every time I have any questions about the current apple selection(changes almost weekly, as far as I've noticed, which is pretty cool:)I walk away with new knowledge. Thanks guys, all of you that always go out of your way to make us customer's days, keep up the great work!

Find many exotic foods here that you won't find elsewhere. A bit spin deer and Winco Trader Joe's and Costco, but with a selection that is vastly different. The produce is fresh the deli has delicious foods and John, the owner is a really nice knowledgeable fellow.

I'm from California and been coming to this market for 4+ years due to family that moved from the Bay Area to this area. It's a quaintly nice store. Today I got a dose of racism in them flesh from the meat market clerk. Very unfortunate

The food quality is in decline over the years. I walked in and heard the manager complaining about staffing and pay and lack of sales. The falafel tasted like a dry hockey puck. The store is still nice and they have nice cheese.

I love this place for the amazing variety. It easily burns a big hole in my pocket everything I enter the store.

I had been to the other location in pearl and love it but this time I decided to try the bigger store just to see how different the offerings were . There is limited parking OutFront so I do feel it could be a challenge on busy days. The store is big and has a lot to offer especially middle eastern foods . I ended up getting a lot of things for an upcoming dinner party and needless to say my guests were intrigued . some of it was food used for prep like Tahini , cheeses ,pita etc and other things like the red pepper Hummus , olives ,chips and wines . The store made chips are out of this world and comes in a big bag that would last you days . The pita is freshly made but I felt like it doesn't taste as good as it did the first day ,so only buying as much you need is the key . The deli has so many great options and you can buy things by pound . They have an extensive wine selection and the shop owner really convinced me to buy more than I had intended. More wine is always better though and I regret nothing! Slightly pricey but then these are ethnic things that the generic stores don't have or don't have much variety of . The staff is very friendly and helpful .

Love this grocery store. Deli and meat market can't be beat! Produce section always has great seasonal plus specialty items that you won't find elsewhere. If you like ethnic grocers, don't miss!

I shop here for a few specific items: packagess of toasts, spreadable feta, dates, twice baked potatoes. It's a fun place to shop, with food from around the world. They butcher shop is halal. I don't eat meat, but my partner does. He says that it is excellent. And I must admit, the cuts of meat are beautiful if you're into that sort of thing. The staff is friendly, and the clientele just as interesting as what is offered on the shelves.
