Mo was the one who’s been doing my taxes for years, and honestly he was the best, and he charged me less. I'm not sure where he is now. Back in 2023 I had this lady named Lori; she was a little bit rude, in my opinion. Last year I had this lady named joy and she charged me $395, which is ridiculous! This year I am not going to do my taxes in this area. They will charge you a lot, and some of the employees here are a little bit rude

This is now the second H&R Block office where I’ve experienced repeated delays and poor communication regarding promised second reviews. At my previous office years ago, I was given multiple inaccurate completion dates that stretched on for months. Ultimately, they told me my return was “too complex” and handed my taxes back without ever completing a second review—after wasting a significant amount of my time.
For context, my situation involved a W-2 employee filing jointly with a single business owner who works from home and has no employees. It’s difficult to understand how this would be considered overly complex for a professional tax service.
Unfortunately, years later at this office, I’m experiencing the same issues: lack of proactive communication and missed timelines. When I reach out, I’m given new deadlines that simply pass without follow-up or explanation.
Based on these repeated experiences, it appears H&R Block does not consistently set or enforce expectations for representative expertise, accountability, or customer service.

This is my first time using an in-person tax service. The lady was nice enough but $240 for about 1.5 hrs of time is ludicrous - not that I was warned of this exorbitant cost up front. She helped me file an extension and said that I was paying a little extra to avoid any interest fees. Well after my taxes were filed and accepted - via the same lady - I got a notice from the IRS that I owe MORE money. There's supposed to be a policy with H&R that if their numbers aren't correct that they will make up the difference or handle it in some way, but of course, this office is only open for FIVE HOURS A WEEK or if you're lucky two days a week. No wonder they charge so much to be closed all the time. I tried calling a different H&R Block office to get help and couldn't even reach a real person - the AI answering service fake-typed in my ear then hung up.
If I could give them no stars I would. I feel swindled and taken advantage of. Now I have to go pay the IRS even more money. Thanks for less than nothing. Just use TurboTax.

I was initially hesitant to use a tax office, having always filed my returns online myself. But let me tell you—the team here is fantastic! They are incredibly knowledgeable and professional, making me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. I was able to get in the next day when I called in the lady was so nice and told me how to upload my information and was super fast and easy.... AMAZING Staff there upfront and tax lady was so helpful with ways I needed to change so I don't owe each year...

Absolutely a terrible experience!!! I wish there was an option for zero stars. Joy Gensler was the worst to work with. As a new business you would think that the advisor would give you advice and not be condescending and extremely judgmental. She did not seem to know what she was talking about but even then we decided to still work with her. The lack of communication and the constant lying was our last straw. She never called when she said she would and I could not get a hold of her because she works in different places. Maybe others have had great experiences but ours was the complete opposite.

Rude and unprofessional. They just went on ahead and rescheduled my appointment less than 10 hours in advance without so much as a phone call - only for me to show up and be told I got bumped to next week.
