I had a really great experience here when I was going through a stressful month of car-related issues. My car was not drivable and I needed it to be "in the shop" in order to qualify for a rental from insurance, and although they couldn't get me in for a few days the staff here helped me out with a loophole that qualified me for the rental. Everyone here was friendly and I want to especially thank Savannah for being especially helpful and communicative throughout the process. She even waited after close on a weekend for me to come back and get my bike which I had left behind in my excitement to have my car back. Overall, everything with the repair went smoothly and relatively quickly considering how backed up repair/body shops are these days.Thanks Bob Thomas Carstar and Savannah!

Recently, my beloved Miata was hit in separate back-to-back incidents by a pair of SUVs. Right when the whole collision and body work industry is hamstrung by the same pandemic-induced supply chain and labor issues challenging so many other American industries. Not to mention my car and I were under a deadline for a racetrack event.The professional staff backing up the craftsmen in the shop were also challenged by the insurance nightmare of trying to juggle two claims that by turns involved 3 insurance policies. To keep the repairs on track, they innovated procedures on the fly to expedite the restoration process.As usual, Bob Thomas’s crackerjack technicians went above and beyond to ensure my car came back to me in better condition than it was before my Unfortunate Close Automotive Encounters of the Worst Kind.Perhaps unfairly, I’m only giving them 4 stars because I wound up having to take a rental sedan on the Sears Point track instead of my 2-seat sport car.Services: Steering & suspension repair

Nice shop that’s certified to service Tesla vehicles. After 3 years of owning my Y we were involved in an accident. Little did I know how difficult a small bumper issue would become. I started calling shops and as soon as I said Tesla they would completely refuse to work with us. I drove to Tesla and was given a list of shops that are certified in the portland area. I went down the list and started scheduling appraisals at every shop on that short list…every single one was booked out 3-4 months for the appraisal! And they said the repairs would take place a couple months after because they had to order parts.Bob Thomas gave me an appt only 5 weeks after my call and when we arrived 2 hrs earlier because we didn’t write the time of the appointment they were very flexible and took us in after about 20mins when the first employees started coming in. They sent us home with the appraisal and we are waiting for repairs soon.

Courtney and Katie are the best. Made this whole process so easy for me. My vehicle got in an accident and I was taken care of in such a timely fashion with the best communication. My vehicle looks and drives great. Even better than before my accident. I would highly recommend CARSTAR and will continue to use them in the future!

They were great and they go the extra mile for their customers. There was a replaced part that went bad from a CARSTAR in Washington state post accident and after having moved to Portland, they were able to work with that Washington location and get them to pay for the replacement when Hyundai refused to. They get a gold star from me!

These people have had a vehicle that required a simple bumper repair for 5 weeks. The accident was months ago and they had plenty of time to order parts and have paint etc ready, however week after week there is excuse after excuse on why the vehicle isn't ready yet. I spoke to Savanah and was told on Friday 10/20 that the vehicle was finally in detail and would be ready Monday 10/23 around lunch time. We'll, it's Tuesday, 10/24 and the excuses keep coming and when asked about providing a loaner car last Friday I was told that the loaner cars are all out and the waiting list for them is full too. This is what you can expect if you choose this body shop. I can't wait to see what the actual quality of the repair winds up to be. I'll keep you posted but at this rate maybe I'll have an entirely rebuilt brand new vehicle from bumper to bumper, but I won't hold my breath. You should know I explained to them how badly I need the vehicle to keep myself in work and my family fed many times while begging them to please hurry. To no avail. My insurance adjuster has assured me that they were paid already so money isnt the problem. I just tried to call for a status update and only got voice-mail. OF course they can see it's me calling so now I'm getting stonewalled. This is so hard. One more day and maybe week of lost wages for me. No loaner offered and at the end of the day ...a detail and a bumper fix can't be more than a few hours of actual work even with paint drying time. Something is very wrong here. Still waiting for my car to be fixed after they broke my door handle. (That I have to pay for!) They have not reached out to me, despite my continuous calling AND they failed to tell me they were going to be closed on a Monday. Meanwhile my rental car is overdue and there is nobody to answer my calls. It's been over a month! So lame and frustrating.

CarStar Bob Thomas provided excellent service, from providing an estimate through the day that repairs were completed (a few days ahead of schedule!). CarStar handled all the communication with my insurance company and provided me regular updates on the status of the repairs.The repairs were thorough and I am happy with the results. I would recommend going to any other body shop. My experience with these people has been rough since the beginning.I have been on their waiting list to get my car serviced for over 6 months. They first categorized my car incorrectly. They keep telling me it will be “next month” over and over again.Now they will not even provide me with a written quote for the work. It is impossible to deal with these people. I would recommend going to a business with a little more customer appreciation than they have shown towards me.For a business that has dropped the ball several times and hasn’t done anything for me they sure think highly of themselves.

Both lady's at the front desk I delt with were absolutely Amazing. Knowledgeable, friendly, and competent.They were extremely quick with getting me in on the fly and I really appreciate them.The Actual work done was Top Notch! The mirror looks amazing.The only issue with the company is JEFF the Estimator.I have Honestly never been verbally attacked in a place of business. Where I was coming to spend a few hundred dollars. But never the less there is Jeff. Rude, zero customer service skills. No hello, no good morning. Accused me of trying to commit insurance fraud? On my first trip. Like Really... but the office lady set him straight and explained he didnt hear our conversation right. Yet... No Apology. then on second trip harassed me about payment. As soon as he seen me he says ( Your paying for this right )No Jeff I'm giving you the keys to my truck in hopes you'll give them back once your finished so I can run out and run away in my company truck that we do business with you with... come on man work on treating people better!AND the only reason I spent the time to write this novel is because I work in customer service! And if I did this to a customer my company would immediately fire me. The is no excuse to be Rude. DO BETTER JEFF.

The staff and estimator were so kind and professional in handling my insurance claim. They explained the process while letting me know what they could commit to under my insurance policy protocol. They made the waiting period pleasant by being sensitive to my experience of an insurance total loss valuation. And explained what that meant. I didn't get a rental car, but they assist with that if I would've needed one. I would recommend them and I am grateful they had a space for me as they are very busy.

Came here because it was listed as a recommendation from State Farm. They originally told me my car was going to be 7k to repair. Made me wait over a month to get in there and then longer so they could order parts. Took the car in finally and was told by a woman that works there to not call and to email her because she doesn’t respond to phone calls? Pretty strange customer service. I then heard nothing for over 3 weeks. I finally call them after hearing nothing and they tell me it’s gonna be almost 15k to repair and it was actually a total loss. Took another week for them to send proper report to insurance to move along claim. They don’t seem to have much concern for peoples time. Wasted mine.

I gave them a 3 star only because I called and talked to someone about a insurance claim amd needed work done to my 2000 silverado only to show up and find out my truck is too old. It was a total waste of time, and I could have found a different shop to ho to.
