I have ordered delivery mulch and for soil from Boring Bark. The quality is very good - the compost was warm and steaming, which means there are lots of beneficial microbes. It is expected to find bits of debris in composted soil, but we got 12 yards of the 7-way bled and only found one or two very small scraps of plastic. The soil overall was consistent, loamy, and my seeds sprouted pretty easily. There were a few golf-ball sized clumps of bark dust, but they were easily broken up with a shovel and mixed in. We'll see how next year's growing season goes to really put it to the test!
Each time I call, I've connected with Kat (not sure the spelling) and she's very helpful and efficient, while still warm and friendly. Both times, I've been able to get either next-day delivery or 2 day. I've heard they can even do same-day sometimes. The truck driver who delivered the soil was very professional and quick. He had advice on where to put the soil so we could scoop it easily & cleared everything with us beforehand. For example, giving us a warning that there's aways a small chance that a very heavy truck with that much soil could crack our new concrete.
It really could not have been easier. Would recommend!

So great to have this resource so close in town during the growing season. I got a couple yards of soil last year for raised beds and pots - everything grew really great!

Boring Bark is open seven days a week: from 8 to 5 Monday through Saturday, and 9 to 3 on Sunday. They've got everything you need for bark, wood chips, soil, compost, mulch, rock, sand, pavers, and they also have plants and seasonal decor. I am not sure how prices compare with elsewhere but their price list is on their website. A nice amenity is that they have free trailer use with a purchase of bark soil or rock pending availability. Of course they also deliver. It's nice to support a family owned business of this type. They've been open at this location since the 1970s. Besides that, it is incredibly charming that this location has a coffee shop! It used to be operated as Cat's Moon and now it appears to be Boring Bean. Either way, the interior smells absolutely delicious with coffee and pastries. And it's lovely to enjoy your coffee amongst the nursery trees and flowers.

Updated review: The owner responded the day after I posted my initial review and resolved the issue immediately. I value customer service and am happy to upgrade to a 5 star review.* * *Ordered a few yards of mulch and compost for a yard project. The mulch they recommended and dropped is full of glass shards. When I called to ask about it they said it was a known. That may be fine for a field. But when I called to ask for advise on what to order for an urban yard where kids play I didn’t think to ask a follow up question about glass shards. Thousands of glass shards. Go somewhere else.
