Finally tried this place because it looked so quaint, but won't be coming back. The whole premise of the restaurant feels misleading. They hired a great copywriter for their website, but I don't really see that translating to what our experience was.It does seem family run, but it's certainly not whoever they spoke about on the website. Asian chefs and waiters, which is cool. I'm Asian too. Maybe their family bought it and took over? The kitchen is wide open to the dining room and I heard one of the chefs cursing, which isn't the best look. The servers are nice but slow. Maybe they're understaffed. We had a reservation waited a bit of time to be seated because tables weren't cleared/set up. Also waited a long time for food and our plates were brought over after the food had clearly been sitting there for a while because some of it wasn't warm anymore. They suddenly brought over 3 tables worth of food all at once and served people who were sat after us first. Never got refills on water. They weren't very attentive, and it was much faster to just go up the counter and pay than wait for them to come to us.The food itself was okay-ish. "Served with fruit" means 1 strawberry and 1 orange slice, which is frankly more of a garnish. Like others said, the hash browns were absolutely flavorless, and quite mushy. The bread they serve is just regular cheap sliced bread from sysco. The french toast was better than a diner's, but I've definitely had more interesting french toast around Portland. The crab omelette was probably the most tasty thing. The eggs were done really nicely in the coddled french style.

Went with a large group so not judging the service based on that

Not what it once was. Very expensive for what it is. Nostalgia is powerful, but not that powerful. Hope they figure things out.

Great spot with a big menu!! I recommend the eggs Benedict or the crab Benedict (weekends only).

This place is pricey but for a reason. The spinach cream sauce is to DIE FOR I particularly like this with the veggie frittata. Everything I've had is incredibly well made and high quality. They serve loose leaf tea options and the lemon custard french toast is something I often think about in my day-to-day life.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options!

If you like good waffles and French toast and don’t care about polite service and atmosphere, then this place will satisfy you. Overall though, quite a poor experience. The moment you walk in the door you feel like you’re invading the place, not a pleasant reception at all. Rude teenagers serving and a ‘roided out looking dude swaggering around the kitchen. Place is falling apart too, could do with a few bucks invested in cleaning and repairs.

I ordered the French toast, which is their specialty. The center of the toast appeared undercooked. This was communicated to the wait staff by my partner, which felt dismissed. She was told we were wrong and that it was supposed to be like that (because of the curd it was supposed to be wet). While I understand that the consistency may be different form a traditional French toast, my stomach, which is never upset, quickly got upset after ingesting it. This, in combination with other previous reviews who have also shared the same concern as well as past pictures from other diners (where it appeared cooked), makes me think we were right. The outer edges of the toast were still wet, a different consistency, and appeared cooked. I hope they read this so future diners don't have the same experience. After hearing this concern, they offered an option to order a different meal, which I did not take. I appreciated the fact they removed the dish from our bill because I "didn't like it" (not something that was requested). At the same time, it would have been appreciated if the staff could have acknowledged that it may have been undercooked. Not doing so led to this review, which I otherwise would not have left. It made for an uncomfortable experience.

We sat in the covered patio, which was warm with the heaters, and split the lemon French toast and the eggs benedict. An excellent meal. The fruit was really fresh!

Very dirty, like the walls, the floor, the tables, the ceiling. Got the French toast and it was very undercooked egg in the middle, immediately felt sick after eating. Wouldn’t recommend for a date or nice brunch.

French Toast is amazing and delicious. My husband had the crab omelette and said it was tasty even though it looked like slop poured over scrambled eggs. His toast was burnt. The hash browns are not good. The service was not great. We were seated “outside” in a covered area with heaters that got turned off as soon as we sat down. I asked for them to be turned back on as it was quite cold but they never did. I later realized that there was an upstairs that was inside and warm with tables- we were not offered any of those for some reason. Maybe I could request a table inside when I make my next reservation??

I ordered eggs Benedict with ham ($17) and my husband ordered his with salmon ($20) Both were okay. Hash browns were absolutely tasteless. Coffee was really good but was $5 per cup! The atmosphere is very poor but the ladies who work there are nice. Won't be back though. $47 plus tip is too much for a mediocre breakfast in a shabby atmosphere. Sorry.

Very hit or miss. I've had exceptionally good dishes (mushroom dishes are usually good), and really disappointing ones. Hash browns are sad and unseasoned.
