“I've been going to Mrs. See's since I was a child, and it's still as magical as it was back then. The customer service is top notch. A trip to See's always puts a smile on my face. And this location is great! Last week, I was in during a rush when both staff were busy packing large orders. I waited no longer than five minutes to be helped, and they were so kind, attentive and apologetic before, during and after our transaction. They just go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.”

“Creo could mean something totally different to these folks- but the word really means Believe in Spanish. If I'm talking about the coating only, our bite-size selections at this Lloyd District chocolatier in Portland, had a pleasant cocoa taste and fillings in each, had a subtle hint of flavor. This space houses their factory where they're whipping up their specialty cocoa powders, bagged items and other goodies. The shelving consists of goodies made with Ecuadorian chocolate for their darks- not sure about their milk chocolate and white origins. This Creo location has a dramatic inside with high ceilings and these impressive, almost apothecary cabinets on either side of the shop. I wanted to hang with my daughter over a cuppa hot chocolate or h. cocoa- but, these folks don't make neither. So, we settled on a box of 12- which was steep at $42- but it was nice they honor the 10% Yelp Check-In offer. The real highlight about our visit was Alix's extremely down to earth energy and generous with her samples and smiles. Thank you!”

“Got a box of baklava here for $35. The assortment in the box was plentiful and enough for sharing. It'd make a great gift. Staff was really friendly and let us sample some chocolates even though we only came for the baklava. The chocolate I did try was pretty good and comparable to most specialty chocolate shops. Prices are definitely on the spendy side.”

“The staff are so nice and welcoming. The prices for the products they have are very reasonable. The store just recently opened, so there isn't a huge amount of options. However, what they do have is so amazing! The honey caramels are absolutely perfect.More is planned to be on shelves and I am very excited to see the growth.”

“Glad to find this candy store in Portland, in Downtown in Nordstrom on 2nd floor. Bought there so many candies, for gifts and to treat myself. They have good selection and bestsellers that I buy all the time. Highly recommend champagne bears, sea salt caramel balls, chocolate champagne bears, bourbon bears, olive shaped candy (chocolate with almond), sparkling rose bears....”

“Best carmel corn and best cheese corn I've ever had, and it's not even close. I'll literally drive across town to come pick up some bags. Absolutely love them!”

“The location is easy to access and seemingly unobvious as a candy store but I loved it. Once you stepped in you knew what you stepped in to. We were greeted immediately and helped throughout. The location is full and stocked of candy -- obviously. I don't feel like there were samples but... a lot changed after COVID. The candy all looks appetizing if that is your thing ;) OKay some specific reviews - The Peanut butter chocolate fudge is YUMMY and oh so worth it. The CB has Awesome dark chocolate!! Try the Strawberry balsamic chocolates -- sounds weird right? Nope they are AWESOME... They have an insane number of salt water taffy flavors. Some very original flavors including Maple syrup, bourbon Maple common mocha, buttered popcorn, fruity cereal... but they have my standards faves as well in peppermint and licorice,”

“My siblings and I found this candy shop while walking the streets of Portland. We loved it so much!! The employees were nice and helpful, and there was a great selection of treats. I purchased a black cherry soda (yum!), and brought home some pink sea salt potato chips for my hubby. He says they were the best he’s ever had!”

“I was once young and intrepid, I traveled the world and got down in the weeds in crowded markets and ate strange foods and bargained for mysterious talismans. I am so much older now and less flexible, but there are certain kinds of shops, certain smells, that bring those years of travel rushing back like a flood in a dry gulch. It was probably the smell of humble temple incense that caught me as I walked past 42nd Street Station in Portland. A small cluster of shops and a great little restaurant. That smell that speaks to me of wandering through bustling Asian markets and stopping by neighborhood temples, of monks mingling in the streets and of constant movement and change. That smell that pulled me into the Himalayan Gifts and Candy as surely as if I had been a fish and I had been hooked.Once inside it was like traveling to far off lands! Himalayan Gifts is absolutely packed with treasures both large and small, both rare and mundane. It is a labyrinth of curiosities and cultural icons. And there… sitting in the middle of this extraordinary collection like a ringmaster of a circus you find Daya! Counselor, Educator, Translator, Interpreter, Entertainer, Proprietor. And you don’t even have to climb to the top of a mountain to find him.The shop has a great collection of Buddhist statues, singing bowls, handmade paper, incense, amount countless other amazing objects. They have candy in jars in the window, educational books, beautiful cards, masks, trinkets, and through it all, wise Daya there to help and advise. To explain the background and history of of objects and their meaning. And maybe to offer a little counseling. He’s a good listener. This is one of those places where you can travel to other lands without leaving your own town. Where you can experience the welcome of the world by stepping off a sidewalk. You can smell a different universe by opening up a door. And isn’t that amazing.”
