Searching for Oxtail/Caribbean specific spices, I found Caribbean Spice. Cool spot that has a lot to offer. Found Soursop, Irish Moss and much more. Worth a visit š

I just went inside and met Chris, he was incredibly helpful. I picked up some blackseed, bitters, sparkling grapefruit āsodaā, Akara pancake mix, curry powder, etc.
He was super great with helping me choose items and he also taught me a few things about what I bought & regarding other items in the shelves that I didnāt know about.
This is a family owned business .. you feel really good about shopping here, I can assure you! Thank you for reading and thank you for being so awesome. Take care.

Super, super helpful and welcoming people. The prices are more than fair for the specialty import stuff. They do take SNAP.
I've been in twice and left in a great mood both times. Everybody I've spoken with has been very forthcoming with help and opinions surrounding brands and ingredients.
I originally went in because it's really hard to find Salsa Lisano locally and they've got it. I left with that, but also hot sauce, cornmeal, pimiento leaves, seasonings, black soap, and rice.
This time I again needed Salsa Lisano, and left with that, but also coconut milk powder, frozen guanabana (so damned excited about this), African nutmeg, another kind of black soap, two different brands of plantain chips, and ginger syrup.
I am looking forward to my next visit, and am super grateful to be able to get input and instructions from folks who use certain ingredients every day. Not gonna find that ordering on Amazon.
Also, they have files with their stocked items on their website. Helpful to see what's generally available before going.

I think this is about the only Caribbean super market in Portland. They have a variety of items even cow heel for your cow heel soup. Salt fish smoke herring and a variety of seasonings to make your Caribbean dishes.

Went looking for scotch bonnet peppers and left with so much more! Theyāve got a good selection of Afro-Caribbean spices, grains, soaps, sauces, plantains, scotch bonnets, meat, and beverages. Aruna, one of the owners, is super helpful. Iāll be back!

The store smelled like rotten fish. The customer service was horrible when I said hello I got a dirty look. The lady was not jamacian she was Indian. The store was dirty and unorganized . Half of the items didnāt have a price tags so the lady was making up prices.

Great coffee selections that stray from the average coffee stand (like lavender infused). You should forego the drive thru and step inside. This place has the COOLEST decor and has plenty of comfy furniture to chill on. The owner was very sweet, friendly and creative as heck! Also, check out the 2 murals on the building behind the shop of Prince and David Bowie as Jarreth. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The prices are extremely high here. There is nothing that can justify how expensive they make their items. They also donāt give you a detailed receipt of all the items you paid for. It just shows the total. The place also has a weird vibe to it. You donāt feel very welcome. Totally disappointed.

Given that there are lot a lot of Caribbean/African stores in Portland I'm glad I'm able to get my African food here.
