Impeccable 90s vibe (complimentary) and incredible service. They cheerfully set aside cinnamon rolls for me when I called ahead. I tried a latte with cardamom and while I don’t think I’d order it again, I did finish it and I look forward to trying other beverages. The cinnamon roll is the best I’ve had in the Richmond/Tabor area. Maybe not the spot to bring your coffee elitist friend, but a perfect place to bring your journal.

This was my first time here. My chai latte was just right. They have three types of chai so you can get just the spiciness you want. I also had a toasted plain bagel with cream cheese which was very good. There are lots of comfortable chairs to choose from. They also have outdoor seating but the weather wasn't quite warm enough so I relaxed inside. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll be going back.

We order two lattes with alternative milks. They were delicious. The place is funk and entertaining. A great spot to read or work on your computer. A+

Rude young lady rushing me "Are you going to buy something?" Me "Give me time to think" I was going to buy pastry but decided not to. I'm Indigenous to this land. Some coffee shops are very rude to Indigenous people. Some are very cool to me.

I haven't been to Common Grounds in years. It's the first coffeehouse I visited when I moved to Portland in 2002. I like that there are tables, comfy chairs, and window seating. I got a latte yesterday but looks like a great selection of pastries as well as breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu items. There aren't many coffee places open after 5pm or 6pm anymore. I will certainly be coming down from NE/Alberta for daytime and evening coffee & food.I also remember going to a few plays in Back Door Theater (behind the coffeehouse), put on by Defunkt Theatre Co when I was taking theater classes at PSU. I'm bummed to hear they've been on hiatus since the pandemic. :(

Good coffee, good environment, super friendly staff. I really enjoyed this place. I have missed it for years somehow, but it was nice to find a coffee shop with decent coffee open late. It is a very Portland aesthetic. I recommend them.Vegetarian options: OptionsDietary restrictions: Dairy and sugar free optionsParking: Sometimes difficultKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes

The young man working was spectacular. He was so kind and understanding. We called ahead to order and he kept the food side open for us to get something to eat. Thoughtful with our drinks and customer service was spot on.

The coffee is always good here. Barista is playing New Order and Bauhaus and Cocteau Twins and I feel at home. It def gets pretty full but the vibe is always good. I like how they do food and drinks well without all the BS pretense. It's just a chill very Portland spot. Also thanks for not making my Irish Cream mocha too sweet.
