It was all the way back in sunny, warm, some might even say hot, I wouldn't, and suddenly I felt the mood was finally right to buy a new futon mattress and new cover. I had been thinking this over for over 6 months. And mind you I had a mattress with this sneaky spring that had freed itself and somehow, someway, always manages to poke a hole in the rear of my yoga pants until I lay a towel underneath. Up next on my journals of Turkish bathhouse delights: So where were we? Buying a futon. I walked in going from no clue whatsoever and after about 5 minutes of sitting unassailed, to making up my mind. I even had my futon cover picked out. It's this gorgeous true red with a subtle pattern. I just finally got around to getting it delivered by friends a couple weeks ago. It's beautiful and comfortable. 2023 - Review #13

We bought a beautiful piece of futon here and it still looks great after four years. The staff are all friendly. Sakeena and Mack went above and beyond to fix a problem and we really appreciate it.

Best futon/mattress shop that I know in the PNW. Lots of different futons to try out. Prices for every budget. All I can say is support your local futon shop. You can't go wrong here.

In the final analysis, they did a great job with my irregular dimensions for futon cushions and pillows. A few hiccups along the way but they went out of their way to correct them.

Worst place to get a mattress. I have purchased from these people twice and it was the same end result. Flattened mattresses within months and that included monthly rotation. I bought the futon and shikibuton and at this point I feel like this place is a scam to take advantage of people who like using natural bedding. My shikibuton that I've had for just over a year now has two mattress toppers and it doesn't make a single difference. The part they don't tell you is these beds are not for everyday use. So unless you have a guest room for it do not buy it for you to use every day. I could feel the floor and futon frame through it in a matter of months. Absolute garbageIn response to the store manager: what's funny is I actually went in the first time and talked with one of your associates before I bought the pioneer futon and was told the warranty would not give me store credit since the only issue was that it flattened. I don't recall being given specific instructions as to how each futon mattress was to be conditioned for personal use. So when I called and asked what there was that could be done they said nothing. The warranty only covered faulty materials and tears is what they told me on the phone. So I didn't bother with the shikibuton since that was my experience with the pioneer. I have replaced my shikibuton with a spring mattress and I don't think there's anything I would want to purchase in the store after already giving a second chance about your products. To me it sounds like even with people TALKING TO YOU they weren't properly trained at the time I came into the store before purchasing the first time.

I bought the pearl queen futon mattress. It is made for a platform bed not a couch. It was comfortable for about a week and now I wake up with severe back pain in the middle of the night. The batting and foam break down and has migrated to the edges of the mattress. To get relief I need to lay on the edge of the mattress. I have only owned this for a few months. Warranty is only a few weeks; surprise! Mattress will now be donated to some poor soul who would rather sleep on a torture device than on the ground. As a side note, I have slept in futons my whole life.Edit. In response to the owner, I did contact the store and was told that it was past the trial period and can not be returned. It was great at first but then degraded quickly. 2 weeks hardly seems like enough time to give your product a test trial. I don't want store credit because I do not want another bed from you. I have futon chairs from the joinery that are over 20 years old. The cushions still in great shape! Short of a cash refund I'm not interested. I just won't ever use cotton cloud again. Sometimes you learn the hard way.

Mack and Serena were terrific. They helped me figure out the right product and went out of their way to set up out of state shipping for me since their factory had to make it. Manufacturing and shipping occurred within a week turnaround and I am A happy customer. Nice to hve real people to talk to who are so helpful. Overall a great experience. Thanks team

LOVE THEM!! Cotton Cloud has an unparalleled selection of futons, frames, and covers. Their wonderful selection is rivaled only by their WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. In a year where they're dealing with supply chain issues and other challenges, everyone we worked with went above and beyond to get what we needed. I can't say enough great things about this store and it's also so rewarding to buy local.

I have been thinking about writing my long over-due review. We badly needed a replacement for our 20-something futon and this place is a go-to. Found a queen-sized futon frame a few years ago and, more recently, a replacement for our old futon. They had a impressive number of styles in a variety of prices. We tried out a few, found what we wanted and they had it in stock so immediate gratification. Great experience, people are super patient and know their stuff. Probably not the cheapest place for sheets and futon covers.

I had a really unpleasant experience here. The sustainability thing seems to be simply marketing, it's all just the same cheap furniture you could find anywhere.

Overall, this place has been nice, aaaand there were very frustrating elements. Their staff is friendly. The people who helped me were mostly kind and patient. I struggle with them after some disorganization around a mattress exchange: I'd bought The Pearl initially and it gave me hip pain (which I've never had with any mattress) and so they kindly let me make an appointment to exchange The Pearl for another mattress. Because of Covid I had to schedule an appointment by phone for my exchange, which I did easy-peasy. But the day before my appointment it occurred to me to call them and actually make sure that they had the bed that I wanted in stock: The person on the phone who made my appointment hadn't verified that. When I called back, the salesperson said No, they didn't have the bed I wanted in stock actually. It feels like they should have been in charge of ensuring that they had the mattress I wanted in stock at the time that I initially set up the appointment for the exchange? But okay. The salesperson on the phone did tell me that while they didn't have the mattress I wanted in stock (for my appointment the next day, for which I'd already arranged a friend to drive an hour from her house to pick me up to use her car to transport the mattress) that they could sell me the floor model which they'd just set out very recently. Okay, fine. I'd already asked my friend to rearrange her schedule to do me a favor. That's fine. I'll take the floor model. When I got to the shop they informed me that they couldn't honor the 20% off Chinook coupon I'd used for the first bed on the second bed. I felt weird about that. Especially given that my friend was with me and if I'd just gone through the bureaucratic step of asking her to download (for free) the Chinook app on her phone we could have had another 20% off coupon and used it for the 2nd bed. I didn't do that because she was already doing me a favor by taking me to the shop in her car... and she was on a time crunch. It just seemed like a weird policy that was more bureaucratic than logical. Buying a $600 bed isn't a simple thing for me--it's a lot of money. So it made me sad they wouldn't just honor the coupon. Finally, the last frustration was that after I arrived, the salesperson informed me that actually the floor model they were going to sell me had tears in it. All across the mattress (The Woolspring) there is tufting to keep the materials in place. In the places where that tufting is, the mattress is tearing. In seeeeeveral places. Like 1 - 2 inch tears in the fabric. I'd already gone through alllll the trouble of asking my friend to help me and though it felt like a bad idea to me, I accepted the mattress even with the tears. They offered me 10% off for the tears. That didn't feel significant enough but I wasn't sure what to do: the salesperson said that was the most they could do. After a couple of months, it does appear the tears are getting larger. So after paying $600 for this mattress, I'm concerned about its longevity and concerned the tears will grow. So while I actually love the mattress, the process and price and condition/longevity felt frustrating. I want to love this place because it's local and has a long history, but buying from them hasn't felt the greatest.
