Kayla was a literal life saver. She helped us swiftly and pleasantly. She provided all the information we needed to know. She also went over the process she was getting done on her end to ease our minds. It was a pleasure meeting her and the whole staff being polite and respectful to each other made the process very smooth.

Stunningly organized and efficient for a DMV with exceedingly nice people! One suggestion is to be a little more forgiving about the number calling, by giving people a chance who don't scurry back in time a bit of a window.

They do not, absolutely do not deserve a bad review. Extremely efficient, helpful and nice. Took my less than 30 minutes to get my REAL ID. It was also great to see the assistance given to those. Kudos to this DMV.

What’s the point of having 6 booths and 7 employees on when you’re gonna send 3 of them off to break or lunch or wherever the entire time? Not once in the entire 4 hours I was waiting were all the booths full. 4 booths servicing people was the max and that was rare and short lived. It was almost always 3 or 2 booths helping people in the busy downtown branch like what? Make an appointment cause this place is so inefficient.

Was pleasantly surprised and greatly impressed at the professionalism and friendliness of Portland’s DMV. Having lived in eight other states necessitating similar actions I was relieved with the ease Alice and Blake shared in completing my vehicle registration and issuance of an Oregon Driver License.. Thanking you both and hopefully you both get acknowledged in some way for your service above and beyond expected.

Walked in to get my REAL ID. Took a number at 2:40pm. Got called by 4:30pm! Your number must be called by 5pm when they close. Otherwise you will have to make an appointment or walk in early another day. I did notice that at some point, 3-4pm they were not accepting anymore walk-ins. So please keep that in mind, and get there ASAP during their open hours!
I was really lucky on my last day off from vacation to make it in without an appointment. There were simply no appointment slots available for weeks around where I live. Once you take a number during their open hours, you can scan the ticket on your cellphone and see the ETA. I opted to get a text message when you hit the 15 min mark and when they call your number!
The employees are incredibly patient and nice. The bathroom was clean, and tidy. I parked 2 blocks down the street in a Paid Parking lot for the Public but there's a bus stop right outside the building. ADA accessible.
Long wait for walk-ins as to be expected. But the process took less than 10 mins once at the counter, confirming information, and then taking my photo at the next corner.

Took a number around 8:30 and got called around 10:45 for my real id. Seemed to be less busy around 10. Everyone was great and they let me quickly redo the process when my name was spelled wrong.

I went to this DMV location with an appointment at 3 pm. I am a Canadian Citizen working in USA on TN Visa. This location staff never seen a TN visa (it is hand written “TN” with expiration date) and refused to process my Driving license transfer from Idaho license to Oregon license.
On my way back I called DMV main line and they told me those people are not up to date.
Useless staff cashing taxpayer’s money as paycheck and not well informed about their own job. We don’t need such data entry staff who cannot call DMV mainline and get an answer. Such data entry work is deemed for AI to cash.

My experience at this DMV was excellent. Yes, the wait time was quite long but that was on me; I hadn't made an appointment and as a walk-in I didn't arrive at the office until past opening though I expected many more people would be there due to the upcoming Real ID deadline. I had time to watch many interactions between staff and customers; all were professional and courteous and the people with appointments were seen on time. When my turn came, the process of renewing my license and getting a Real ID took less than 10 minutes start to finish. The person who helped me at the counter (I didn't get her name but she has blonde hair) was very friendly and helpful. Toby at the camera area was great. And guess what - the bathroom was clean! All in all, I was very pleased with the service at this DMV.

Switching my out of state license was an absolute breeze, hands down the best DMV experience I've ever had! Despite a couple of paperwork hiccups on my end the wait time was minimal and very easy/straight forward. Shoutout to Tony for being the DMVs MVP!

We arrived to get an identification, we waited a long time so they wouldn't serve us, they only said that it was already closed and I felt discriminated against by the people who work there, they are very frustrated and rude people, they have no attitude to deal with the public and even less do they have the ethics to respect others. immigrant people

The bald man with the glasses should not be working here. He is incredibly rude and incompetent. I came weeks ago to get my name changed on my license and he sent me away saying I needed a new social security card. I got that and came back and today he didn’t even ask to see my social security card. He just looked at the court documents who i had the first time. I had to take two days off of work for this when he could’ve just done in the first time. Ridiculous. He has no customer service skills and he cuts you off mid sentence. If you hate your job so much then find something new instead of being miserable to everyone who comes in.

Unfortunately, after waiting for over an hour as a walk in, I was told at this location they cannot do a transfer of title. This is due to not having a parking lot where they can verify the Vin number. Upon looking all over for information about this on the website, nothing says this is a service they cannot provide.
So, be forewarned. They cannot do any VIN verification for title transfers.

Don't get too comfortable, this place is *dialed*! Plenty of open counter stalls, the walk-ins are flying through the queue, and I've never seen a DMV location full of such happy and efficient workers! Thought I was in for a boring day camping in the lobby without an appointment, but I guess I get a day off after all... ?
