If you're thinking of going as a walk-in, be prepared to stand in outside for an hour or more before you even get a number and have to wait who knows how must longer inside. I gave up and booked an appointment at the Gresham DMV for later the same day.

The worst DMV in Portland. Wait times are ridiculous, appointments are literally impossible to obtain, and employees are overly chatty with customers, constantly away from desks to stand around and gossip with each other while on the clock, and won't call new numbers even when people clearly don't show up. It's staggering how little urgency is shown by window clerks, especially when there are other delays in the schedule. They seem to be intentionally avoiding helping people in favor of meandering around the building uselessly. This all lead to at least two hours of completely unnecessary delay for every single customer. They have helped about 5 walk-ins in 90 minutes, with 100+ people waiting on them to do their actual jobs.

The DMV is Open, and relatively Busy. Wait tines are 10-15 minutes.

The service from the latin people is the worst ever. It seems like they are angry all the time and they don't like their job.
The rest of the people are nice and friendly but the service is very slow overall.

You have to wait a very long time for your turn. You have to spend the whole day waiting for your number.

Very efficient and friendly staff. The space inside was also very clean and well organized. Lots of parking spaces available outside.

Walk in appointment was here 1 hour before they open took 4.5 hours to get help 3/4 of the windows are close why even have them if your not gonna open them makes zero sense

Don't show up at 3:59 and wait to talk to staff for help, the minute it hits 4:00 you get kicked out unless you have a ticket. Oregon DMVs are the worst.

Generally speaking, it's pretty good, but the bigger the place, the more capable it is, and there are so many people there, so naturally the waiting time in line will be longer.

No one here is ever on the same page, staff wise. Been in and out for a week now, every staff I speak to tells me something different. The ppl on the phone never tell me the same thing as the In person staff. Wasting my time like it’s valuable like theirs. The staff are rude as hell instead of being helpful… if I was white they’d prob help me though.

I made an appointment ahead of time and I was seen right on time. The experience was great. My agent was efficient, nice, and great to work with. Would do it again!

By appointment, it was fast less than 10 mins by the time I checked in the kiosk.
