Once again, 2nd & 3rd generation co-owners mother and son, Pattie and Josh have displayed their commitment to our community; and not their bottom line!
Helpful, honest and willing to share how an appliance owner can try to solve a problem.
14 years ago I bought a barely used Whirlpool Duet Sport Washer & Dryer from a family moving back to their home Country.
First I went into the store about the Dryer drum started rocking noisily; I soon learned from son Josh, that I should NOT buy one of E&M’s reconditioned dryers; because this Whirlpool set could last for decades. Their repairman found all it needed was a new drive belt!
This last week, I went in because the washer still wouldn’t drain; even after I had found coins, & other items (left in clothes pockets) in the drain pump filter. I went back in with the washer’s model number and confirm my repair appointment.
Co-owner mom Pattie asked if I had checked the hose to the drain filter? NO, I didn’t know to check it.
Sure enough an adult sock was blocking water from getting to that filter! So, this morning I canceled my appointment!
____
Fortunately for me, a decade ago my mechanically minded granddaughter—in-law, had gone online and learned how to clean out the drain pump filter.
BABY SOCKS had filled the EASILY REMOVABLE filter!
Now I know to check the hose between the tub and the filter TOO!

Very helpful, honest people here. They'll be first on my list next time I need to purchase a new appliance.

Had a problem with the ice maker in my refrigerator/freezer. Called them, like I always do when I have problems with my appliances. Got an appointment with Jeff Ryan. He fixed the problem. Nice man, my dog liked him, so he's a good guy.
So happy to have an ice maker again.
If you need a repair for an appliance, call them.

Technician CANCELLED Scheduled Appt for running behind; As this was a follow up Appt from a burner on a stove that was Repaired Impropriety by their technician; which recently put a family member in danger with a small Spark Fire on Same Burner UNSAT, which caused another Burner- Both Large Burners to not work. Also, Lady on phone, Lisa- Owner/Manager? that schedules Appts is rude and unprofessional.

This place is the best for appliance repair! I called yesterday because my washer was wobbling, I got very nice technician out (thanks Josh!) within a couple hours, and it was fixed today. It was cheaper than anywhere else, and everyone is so friendly and easy to work with. I highly recommend them!

Josh was extremely knowledgeable and correctly diagnosed the problem with my washing machine based on my description of the problem. Instead of trying to sell me a new washing machine or immediately scheduling a technician to come out he suggested that it was a repair that I could probably do myself and gave me an overview of how to do it.He brought out a motor and explained the parts and how to do the repair!Less than two hours later I have a working washing machine again at a fraction of the cost I was expecting to spend. This is an honest shop that employees good people who care about doing the right thing by their customers.

Prompt and excellent service to repair a 23 yo washing machine. Honest assessment of the problem, Joshua also showed us how to make a repair ourselves if we are so inclined. A great family owned business that is definitely committed to customer service and building long time customers. I highly recommend them.

I will definitely be back! I tried unsuccessfully to repair my electric clothes dryer, and came into E&M looking for an affordable used replacement. They walked me through three common problems, so I went back home and discovered the problem was the door sensor, not the thermal fuse as I believed from my online research, an easy repair that cost me all of $24 in parts. I was so grateful for the willingness to take time walking me through what could be wrong, and encouraging me to try again. Definitely what I am looking for when patronizing local businesses!

Little Lady behind the counter is wonderful and very helpful, and goes out of her way to find and get you what you need at the right price, it is ones of the small Mom and Pop business's you can still get treated right.

Service was outstanding. We only wanted a refrigerator and not a freezer. A couple of 10s for the ladles.

Friendly, knowledgeable appliance repair in-home. Quickly diagnosed issue of my Kenmore washer. Josh told me he is third generation in the family run business at E&M and shared his appliance recommendations. Highly recommend!

The person they sent out was lovely. Personable, patient, professional. But at the time, I expressed concern that he might be missing the problem. Cost me $99 to be told nothing was wrong. So as the issues continued & new ones develop, I call the shop to tell the owner about my experience & the ongoing problems, including that I’m not working currently and so the expense already incurred w/o resolution is a problem. She is defensive, hostile, accusatory, not listening, getting the details wrong, and raising her voice, telling me I had 30 days to report any issues. When was I told that? So my expressing concern to the repair person directly at the time didn’t count? I wanted to support them because they’re a long time SJ biz. Now I regret it. Kind of surprised someone with this much history in the area has this attitude towards customer service.
