Fairlane Coffee has introduced me to the greatest coffee roaster in the world: Onyx. Which is almost sacrilegious to say, because they're based in Rogers, Arkansas. And when I first learned that's where their beans were coming from, it raised an eyebrow. But then I had the coffee and - oh my god. I would import these beans from Timbuktu if I had to.What is it about Onyx? Well, first of all they are meticulously sourcing the raw materials from high quality, shade grown, fair trade sites. Which, is the correct place to start although admittedly not particularly unique, especially when you live in Portland Oregon. However, from there, Onyx processes their beans in absolutely unique ways. Natural washes, anaerobic fermentations, carbonic maceration, and a number of other techniques that yield a coffee that captures the freshness of the fruit character inherent in the coffee cherries. The beans are then very lightly roasted to preserve the natural flavors, and as to avoid the burnt flavors of over-roasting.This puts a cup of very high-toned, fresh, and utterly intoxicating coffee in your cup.Fairlane finishes the job with a cute cozy space, friendly staff, quality espresso extraction, skillful latte crafting, pour overs for maximum appreciation of the beans, and delicious local pastries.

Nice place, come here often. The ceiling lights mix daylight and warm bulbs though, a real tragedy.

Love their avocado toast! I go there to do a small amount of work from time to time to get out of the house and it's comfortable and easy to work from. The staff are friendly and the food and coffee are great!Parking: Right next to the free public parking lot.

This coffee shop has very chill and cozy vibes and the coffee itself is excellent-- very smooth. What was peculiar on the last visit was preparation of the specials. Normally, I drink plain lattes, but decided to try the maple and my partner tried the gingerbread. However, both tasted like completely plain lattes-- which while excellent in coffee flavor, was not as expected. When my partner finished their gingerbread latte, there were tiny gingerbread cookies in the bottom of the cup, so the lack of flavor did not appear to be due to accidentally receiving a plain one. Despite this, the taste of the coffee was great and I would definitely be willing to try this place again to see if that was an anomaly or the norm.

I had a great experience here, although I spent way too much money on a bag of beans - staff accommodated my sticker shock with a discount.

Great local coffee shop with extremely helpful staff. The young lady who took our orders was very down to earth and made the perfect pour over for us. We went to other pour over coffee shops in the area but this one was the best. We are suckers for coffee & every time we visit a new place we love to explore the coffee scene. We were not disappointed here. For food they have a few pastries and I believe they also make toast but we came for the coffee. We sat and read for an hr and enjoyed our coffees. Definitely recommend.

Delightful espresso, good vibes. Uses Onyx beans, an excellent 3rd wave roaster. Cortado with Costa Rica beans, had notes of chocolate, caramel, and almost like a soft-serve vanilla ice cream deliciousness.Son had a hot chocolate, and it was delightfully decadent. Will return again and again.

Cute little spot that has indoor seating and outdoor are if you wanted to bring your little furry friends. Could definitely see this as a decent study/work spot, as there is Wifi, that also serves delicious food and drinks! Ended up coming on a Saturday for an late breakfast and the toast did not miss. Bread wasn't toasted, which I kind of wish it was, but it was delicious and tasted so fresh. We ordered the garden toast and the avo + hummus toast. We added salmon to the avo toast and it elevated it to the next level. The latte was so good, but there is a bit of a sweetness to it even without any flavorings! The iced matcha latte was good, but the matcha flavor felt a bit watered down. Wish the taste has more of a presence in the drink.Overall, cute ambiance and super friendly staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new coffee spot and will come back again to try more drinks!

Was super excited to see the salmon toast on the menu. This company had a picture posted of the toast and a menu as well. Well that should have been my clue that I shouldn’t try it, as there were no other pics. The updated in store menu had “dill sauce” as part of the salmon, which I thought would be fine. I was mistaken. Dill sauce is actually just mustard with some flecks of dill in it. It made it pretty… but mustard? I truly think it was trying to hide the salmon they were using, as you can see that has truly changed too. Sad, because I wanted to love it. Space is cute though! Hopefully the other toasts are better.I suggest you remove the pics of what you have altered.
