I used to live nearby this store. I like its employees, products and prices. Their quality is amazing in Kroger brands and their customer service had always been top notch! I recently revisited it when a friend needed garden supplies and I remembered their garden section was huge and very well stocked full of useful all around items. Don't let the security and receipt checkers intimidate you, they're there to keep us all safe and to cut down on things that would otherwise make this store not exist.

I was in the lucky position to be able to buy a used car outright and found one this weekend. With the banks closed, I headed to Fred Meyer Money Services to purchase a money order for the dealership (around 9k and change). The first time I ran my debit card it was declined because that's over my transaction limit. I stepped away for 10 minutes to call my bank and when I came back a new person was at the desk. He refused to sell me the money order because he "didn't feel comfortable" with the high amount. I told him someone was already helping me and never said there was a problem. He stepped away to "talk to a manager," came back and still refused. I asked what the limit is for money orders and he said there isn't one but he just didn't feel "comfortable." The way he spoke to me and how I was treated made me feel like I was doing something wrong just for trying to get a money order. If there is a limit, he said theres wasnt, it should be clearly stated. He was rude, unfriendly, and treated me like some sort of suspicious person or scammer. Luckily I didn't let his bad customer service ruin my day, I got my new car, and I learned which customer service desk NOT to visit next time I need help.

I went in to buy formula for my daughter, had it all rung up when some older women walked up and said I can't use coupons because they have my wife's name on it. The coupons don't say anything of the sort. The cashier and bagger were great, the manager is refusing to do business with no cause. Ridiculous.

The situation at this Fred Meyer currently reflects the challenges facing Portland-- lots of extra security because of theft, some individuals clearly having a very hard time around the property, etc. But the staff overall seem to be doing their best, and the selection and prices are good (though there are inventory problems sometimes). We continue to shop there for our nearby household, and hope the store and City find ways to help address these tough problems.

I come here less and less because of the armed security guards. When I ask what they need my receipt for, the replies I get are "do we have to tell you?" Or "I'm just highlighting the date". They arent looking for particular items, they arent comparing the receipt with whats in my bag or cart. They are just here to intimidate and harass customers and nothing they've done or said says otherwise.QFC down on Burnside is still a Kroger, you get your gas points and you don't get intimidated and harrassed by weaponized rent-a-cops.

It's quick simple easy. Staff always friendly. The only thing it doesn't have is clothing department, but it has electronics, automotive, house hold supplies, and cookware. It is a little bit smaller than most Fred Meyers stores but that's why I prefer it it's a Sunday at noon and I was in and out with what I wanted in less than 20 minutes. Oh they have drive through pharmacy too. That's always a plus for those who are in need of one. Thanks to anyone who reads this just giving my opinion on this store I go there a lot because of how quick and convenient it is.

THIS STORE IS SHADY! THEY WILL DOUBLE CHARGE YOU! BEWARE!! The first time this happened, thought it was just a fluke, but then ordered groceries online. The order never arrived via Instacart and they charged me for it anyway. Tried the chat, phoneline and NOBODY ANSWERED FOR THREE DAYS. Finally got someone on the phoneline on a Sunday morning and they said it would be handled and the return would take a few days, only to see that they CHARGED IT TWICE! No reversal, no return. Now I have to dispute this with my bank and it's a HUGE HASSLE! It has been almost two weeks since the order was placed and still no resolution. Almost $350 on my bankcard for items that were never delivered. FRAUDULENT!!

This used to be a friendly and inviting store, but now it feels entirely uncomfortable from the moment you arrive because of the new “security measures.” The entrances have gates and a large man in a fake tactical outfit checking you out as you walk in. Not mad at him - he just needs a job like we all do - but it is super uncomfortable. Prices are higher than most other places around. A staff was walking around clearly watching people as they shopped, and it was unnerving. I was checked out by a lovely checker, and they even bagged my groceries for me. But then the man in a fake tactical vest with a thin blue line flag stopped me to check my receipt, even though I had just been checked out by a store employee in his immediate field of view. He didn’t check my bags, he just looked me up and down and marked my receipt. So clearly this is just profiling, and I guess I fit the profile of someone who won’t steal, even though I was wearing a big jacket. They sure did look through the bag of the non-white person behind me, though. Shop elsewhere if you can.

The staff is generally pretty nice EXCEPT for the security guards. The guys standing around in their bulletproof vests and thin blue line patches make me feel really unsafe when I just want to get groceries; I don't think it cuts down on theft when they're harassing shoppers to look at their receipts. Tell me why Fred Meyers doesn't have enough money hire enough employees to appropriately staff the check out lanes OR fix the busted self check out that's been neglected for weeks, but they have enough to hire a bunch of armed goons to stare us down while we're entering/leaving? It's just plain gross.

This place makes you feel like a disaster struck and we're living under martial law. They added security gates, security guards, and TV's that show you're on camera everywhere. Went through self checkout and they must have had the theft setting at 100. Every other item I scanned, it assumed I was stealing. Slightly more sensitive than usual, but what was crazy is every time it "assumed" I didn't scan something, an alert went off and the screen whipped back and forth between 2 different cameras that were on me. I know theft is up but I hear more about y'all trying DEFEND the problem, rather than solve it. If people are stealing food, I think we all know what the issue is. Based on your wages, your theft issues are probably internal. What a joke.

decent selection of grocery stuff but prices are too high and the armed security guards make for a really unfriendly and creepy shopping experience..... I shouldn't have to go thru a search every time I leave the grocery store, feels really dystopian if you ask me.....

Absurd and inconveniencing security measures. Aggressive guys strapped to the teeth larping with guns, tasers, mace, bulletproof vests. Checking every receipt. This doesn’t make anyone safer or feel safer, it just sucks and makes me feel anxious

Allowing over night parking of homeless for more than a week is unacceptable and devalues our neighborhood. It would be nice if you help keep our hometown shopping center safe for your local shoppers.
