I was visiting Portland and heard about this store from a friend and had a really fun time looking at comics and chatting with the owner about books. Great place and will for sure be back next time I’m in town!

Such a hidden gem! The gentleman who owns the store is SO nice and SO knowledgeable. The store has boxes all over filled with comics/manga/memorabilia, and the owner is happy to move things around and help you locate anything you're specifically looking for. More people should check this place out and give it business, such an awesome part of the local community! Will definitely be back!

Once upon a time, this used to be my favorite go to shop. They were well organized, had a great selection, and their pricing on back issues was based on supply and demand (meaning the more they had the cheaper they were) There were Sunday specials and the yearly Christmas coupon. All gone. After several moves and closing one location, they are now basically down in a large basement. I haven't been down in quite a while, but the last time I was it bordered on hoarders nightmare. You literally could not look at lot of the back issues as there were boxes upon boxes stacked on top of Them. Everything is crowded and congested making looking around comfortably a challenge, especially if there is someone the same general area you are. There are boxes upon boxes of inventory. I imagine overstock that are labeled do ot touch. That are sitting out on the floor and everywhere. Obviously they are out of storage space but it really looks bad to have it sitting out in Plain-view especially when it's in the way of seeing other merchandise that is supposed to be for sale. The other issue being if there is so much overstock wouldn't it be better to do a sale and generate some cash flow out of it rather than it sit in a box never to be seen again? Don, the owner is one of the nicest guys you can meet and I think it's just him trying to run the business now. Hopefully he gets some help in or does something things, a lot of change needed) different because what he has in place now is literally collapsing in on itself. I wish him the best and will check back in to see if anything has changed

My first time going in I felt a bit apprehensive, like I was about to walk into a secret meeting, or someone's basement dungeon. But once you're in the space it feels like there are many treasures just waiting to be discovered. The owner is always super friendly and helpful, and the space is well lit. I love going in, looking through the stacks and boxes just to see what might jump out at me.

Overall: A trip down memory lane with team members that are extremely passionate and friendly!Location/Parking: It's not the easiest place to find but once you do, you won't want to leave at all! For anyone that hasn't been there, make sure to use your GPS, or else you'll spend at least 5 minutes trying to find the place because it's located inside a warehouse - yes, a warehouse. Once you've parked in their shared parking lot, follow signs to the stairs that will lead to the basement. It will feel a bit scary but you will be amazed at what you can find here. There were so many classics that reminded me of my childhood and the owner was extremely friendly. Selection: Jokingly, I think this would give Google a run for its money for books and comics! There were shelves full of books and it looked just like it did in the movies with signs that said 1st editions and so forth.

Found everything I needed and the person at the counter was super nice and helpful--yeah, this place is packed but that's exactly what I expected from the pictures. You'll find something you want here. Keep this place in business.

This place has become my new favourite comic, graphic novel, and book shop.It feels super sketch walking up to it, in the way that you know you've just found a treasure. When you walk down, it's just rows and rows, and stacks and stacks of books, comics, statues, magazines, etc. I walked out of there with so much stuff. The manager said they've been there for 40+ years. I feel like I've just discovered a new Portland Gem.

Look, it's a perfectly cromulent comic shop, they have EVERYTHING, the problem is it's jam packed in too small a space. It's super hard to find anything. If they had more space + an organizational assistant, it would be on par with the best bookstores in the city.

There’s a section in this store that I really love, but it’s not even accessible due to the massive piles of boxes blocking half of the store. The man who owns the store seems nice, but either too lazy to open his mail or incapable of moving things around. When I asked if we could access this section he just said it wasn’t available and when I asked if he had an estimated time for when it would be accessible he just said there was no date. I would’ve even moved the stuff myself. It’s a shame to watch this place become more and more of a fire hazard of junk. I won’t be going back.

I've been a loyal customer of Future Dreams for many years now since I was just a kid and for very good reason. When I moved to a different state after graduating college, I arranged a mail delivery for comic titles I wished to continue collecting. For over two decades now, the owner has been consistently putting issue after issue aside for me and regularly sending them via mail to each address I have lived at. I have not missed even one issue in all these years and this business has worked diligently with me to update my information and charge accounts. They have also kept up communication to alert me of new titles or when I wanted to add things to my list. I am grateful that this business has lasted over the years through times both good and bad because the level of dedication to their long term customers is unmatched in my opinion. Thank you Future Dreams for being the best of the best!

A great ace to find odd comics. I always enjoy the feel of an established location. Great salesperson; very knowledgeable about the hobby.
