Spacious, nicely decorated place with several vegan options, including a carrot lox bagel, a breakfast burrito, and 5-6 sweets from the vegan bakery Shooffly!

Great coffee and pastries! Just lovely espresso, and I had an earl grey and apricot scone that I’m still thinking about.Vibe on a weekday at lunchtime is busy but I was still able to find a seat. Seating is a little funny, they don’t have much downstairs and then there’s this loft. A little awkward to see if there was anything available up there. Overall super cute cafe, I’ll be back whenever I’m in the neighborhood.

They had a good variety of Shoofly pastries on the morning I stopped by. I got a yummy muffin and scone. They had several Shoofly scone and muffin flavors, plus phillykakes and cinnamon rolls. I didn't get to try the coffee but look forward to going back for that. The people working there were really nice, and the place had a cute theme and ambiance.

This is my go to for a quick coffee and breakfast. Coffee is excellent and the breakfast burrito is delish. I also enjoy the breakfast bowl when I’m feeling the need for something more on the healthy side!

Guilder is one of the BEST cafes in Portland. All of the staff is so incredibly kind and friendly and the food is unmatched!!! We come here so often bc the food and coffee is some of the best. I love how they are located within powells as well as the Fremont location.

Breakfast sandy of the week! 6/69This gets a revered 9.2/10 mcmuffs! Twas double digits cost wise but you get a hefty yet tender sourdough. Comprised with soft, layered eggs that make me wanna use it as a beauty mask. Topped with a healthy amount of cheese, aoli, and avocado. Moooove over bacon, need not apply.Perhaps my favorite of my egg sandwich journey thus far. You Know it’s a grand mouth adventure when I DIDNT EVEN NEED HOT SAUCE though plenty was available.Gooosh. Gimme that egg pillow as I’m blush gushing over this one

We walked in as 1st time customers on Dec the 10th 2023.When we were ready to order the barista on duty (dark red hair, green Christmas sweater) was probably the worst counter server i have ever experienced in my entire life. I am part of the hospitality industry with 15+ years of experience. When i asked about placing a vegan breakfast burrito order, he replied: I don't know about that because we are closing (we were there at 3 p.m they close at 5p.m) , followed by a rude statement: "We do not allow dogs" . Our little pet was inside his stroller. Then we stood there for about 5 min waiting for him to give us an update regarding if we can order or not, he didn't say anything just stood there. Terrible 1st experience as a customer that's been supporting local businesses and been working on this industry. Owners need to train their staff better or let them go.

Honestly one of the worst cappuccinos I've ever had. My friend had the lox bagel and said it tasted like apple cider vinegar.

"As you wish" - If you've been to Guilder, you'll know exactly why I used this quote to kick off this review!Guilder has a subtle Princess Bride theme running throughout, but not overly extra in its references. This is a beautiful curated space that has a small downstairs and some seating upstairs. It's beautiful in the summer and winter bc the large windows allow a lot of sunlight in, and there are a lot of plants that they use for decoration. The coffee is also delicious. They roast their own beans and do a great job of it. They always have plenty of options to choose from and I really enjoy getting a shot of espresso or a latte here! It's also fun to chat with the baristas, and if lucky, sometimes Mike, their roaster, comes by and is always willing to talk about his coffee. Guilder is on my list of Portland coffee recommendations not just because of its design, but because of its great coffee and hospitality!

Coffee is outstanding. Perfectly brewed and ultra smooth. They do quality control on all their coffee. So you going to get an extremely highest standard here often.
