It's a very nice toy store but the indoor play area is very sparse for a two year old. It needs more equipment or interactive things to do.

Come for the play space, leave with a boatload of new toys! Which in this case was a good thing, since we visited near the holidays and have a bunch of nieces and nephews. While I think this spot is only listed as a toy store on Yelp--and what an amazing, well-thought-out, beautiful layout of toys and other offerings they have--the small play space to me is just as lovely. The sky and rainbow theme is a dream, and the toys are thoughtful and of good quality. We had at first tried to go to a different indoor playground in town, but when it turned out to be unexpectedly closed for the week, it was serendipity that we found ourselves here instead. My two small kiddos played for around an hour, and the adults left with a wooden thumb piano, a DIY synthesizer, and a set of magnetic darts, among other things. Which are gifts and which I'm planning to keep, I'll never tell. Can't wait to come back.

Wonderful people who run the store, quality, well-curated toy selection, helium balloons party supplies, and a bonus lovely little play space. You can stop by and pay a small fee to play indoors when the weather is yucky and even bring your own snacks and food in and chill while your kids play on the slide or create something with blocks or magnet tiles. The website is also great for gifts and you can feel great knowing you've supported a local business while checking things off your holiday list. Sometimes they even have local delivery available in their cute little van. Also check their calendar for local events like song and dance time, Indigenous song & story time, and even kids' stand-up comedy and performance hour. All-around amazing store we're lucky to have in Portland.

Amazing little store. Incredibly high quality toys, unbeatable prices in a world of instant access to low quality goods all over the internet. The toys chosen for this store have incredible quality and I will be back for more. The owner of the store was so kind and shared how they select their goods and it made me feel especially glad to have shopped here today instead of online.

Wonderful sweet toy store. A place for play, learning, connecting and fun. Friendly service. I hardly have the words to explain it all. Amazing party balloons. Check it out. You won’t be sorry.

Great toy store, event and play space! Love picking up birthday party gifts here, taking relatives to shop for our kids for holidays and the new-ish event and play space are incredible!

It's a cute place, but paying $12 for a TOY CAR is a lot it was worth it because it was a pastel pink Cadillac. If you have the money I'd recommend going here, they have some cool stuff there.

Best toy store. Upon entering the people were friendly and welcoming. We purchased a ticket to the earth day event and it did not disappoint. My little one did not want to leave-I highly recommend this store for their cool toy selection/books and fun events.

I come here often with the kids I babysit, 3 and 5 years old. They love it! The playroom keeps them entertained for hours and gets out some of their wild energy. Went to the 5-year-old's birthday party here and it was a blast. They have great events, the hosts keep the kids engaged the whole time. Their products are high-quality, and they have a lot of books and toys I haven't seen anywhere else. Lots of great art supplies. I love it as an adult, I've bought many toys for myself, and balloons for my birthday. The staff is extremely nice.

Hammer and Jacks has always been our go to neighborhood spot for birthday gifts or a fun treat for our kiddo. Everyone always makes us feel welcome and our toddler feels empowered to wander the store and explore their interests. Their new playroom is the space parents were looking for in SE. A few tables to observe your kiddos while they play independently AND the opportunity for our winter kids to have a fun indoor birthday party outside of the house. Every time I go to Hammer and Jacks it's clear that this store is a dream come to fruition and I love being a part of their story as a patron.

We love Hammer and Jacks! Our favorite toy store ever. They have fun toys that the kids and parents love. It’s our perfect spot for balloons and birthday presents. They wrap gifts for free! My kids love seeing their res Van around the neighborhood making deliveries. Check out their calendar for fun events too.

Definitely a place for rich people. The customers inside were extremely rude, and entitled. Some the toys were kind of neat, but nothing that blew my mind. Lots of educational toys but priced way too high. The employee was very nice though, and that's the only reason I'm giving it two stars.
