I reserved a small compact SUV, but when I was only two stops away on the train, the agent called to say they only had a large SUV available and would need to charge me an extra $30 rather than honoring my original price. I’ve been a loyal customer for years this is not cool.

Honestly, the day we picked up the car, we scheduled for an 8 am pick up, the car was only available at 10 am. Also we reserved a totally different car than what we received. The workers told us it’s because the one we reserved wasn’t available.
Now, when we drop off the car; The drop off was at 5, 5:30 and there still was 6 people waiting in front of us. A single employee was working! I mean he can only do his best here, especially if he’s been here all day, it’s not his fault.
This is a callout to Hertz specifically, y’all as a company is the capitalist embodiment of frustrating incompetence. So it’s fine when a company gives us a car 2 hours late, but god forbid we drop it off 2 hours after the scheduled time that there will be a late penalty fee. Also.. If you agree for them to fill up the tank, it’s 11 dollars per gallon..😂 When the gas station across the street is 4 a gal..

Managers Special Dodge Ram 2500 9miles to gallon of gas .. wanted something regular didn't get then charged for upgrade which should be downgrade to Malibu something you want to drive .. all other cars they said were not available or you could exchange different location with no charged lied about it

Had a super great experience picking up my car this morning (8/8/25). There were two employees, and one seemed to be training as a semi-new hire. Both employees were great and informative, making sure we got our car quickly. I recommend making a reservation ahead of time, as I think that’s what allowed us to spend only about 15 minutes there (which includes the time spent waiting in line). This location is also a great alternative to the airport location since they don’t add the significant airport fee.

Beware when you book with this company, which is located off the airport. They will not honor their bookings. They actually called me and told me that after I booked and got a confirmation email, that was no guarantee of there being a car there for me when I arrived. Think about this for a minute. People book and reserve cars by the thousands every day in this country and when they show up at the rental car counter they expect that there will be an automobile reserve for them based upon the booking. That is why you make a reservation and is the very definition of the word reservation. You will notice that today it is more about the business than it is the customer and this is a prime example of that. I have coined a new term in relation to this type of relationship. It is called business narcissism and it runs rampant throughout many US businesses. Do not use this rental car company or you may not have a car when you show up and of course it will be your fault because your reservation meant nothing and you should know that. Here’s a copy of the email.

Rented from here and overall had a great experience. Normally, I would rent from an airport, but the prices of the Portland airport were substantially high. Probably four times higher than what I paid at this hertz. Staff were nice and accommodating. Would rent here again in the future worth doing a pre-payment to save as well

I made a booking for a car through their website. It is mentioned that i can use a debit card for the booking. Once i got there i was told that it can not be an International debit card. NOWHERE on their website there is any mention of that.
