Purchased 4 pumpkin tennis balls and 2 pumpkin cupcakes 15 min before store closed last night. Came home called gf excited and she said her dog was allergic to pumpkin. I have my 110lb Mastiff one of the tiny tennis balls. He was farting all night wouldn’t eat dinner or drink waters. This morning when they opening I called explained said would like to exchange for peanut butter treats or refund if exchange not possible. They sorry no refunds or exchanges for baked goods even though I said it was a health and safety concern and would only offer me 5% off another purchase. Do not recommend their baked goods my Mastiff with a rock hard gut stomach couldn’t digest their smallest treat

This place is pretty dope. I think it's amongst the top three dog/pet stores in Portland. They have a chute to drop biscuits to your pet, a massive selection of toys and treats, and they will even personalize dog treats for your little buddy. It's definitely worth going to.

I've been coming to this place back when it was Java Hound and my dog literally dragged me in about 3 years ago. The deviously elevated and diversely stocked treat trough behind the counter allowed my Mastidor to try everything he could get his Zoidberg feeder tendrils on.A year later, they opened up their "Barkery" and rolled out yet another way for my dogs to further drain my discretionary income. Pumpkin cupcakes topped with fish, peanut butter cupcakes topped with bacon and entire cakes of both. These, combined with their huge selection of pet CBD products (surprisingly hard to find in Portland), higher end foods and jackets, toys, beds made us a repeat customer for years. The staff are utterly fantastic and helpful. Bar a few, who are made of pure, unadulterated Haterade. I've had treats thrown at me (my dog intercepted a few of these) while being called a peasant, been compared in looks to a sexier Green River Serial Killer (this one's kinda true), accused of running a sex trafficking ring among other things. I have to plan out my visits here during their busiest times, lest I incur completely unprovoked taunting. One of the terrible two left to go spread her awfulness at another pet store but continues to send insults through the other staff. That being said, ill probably be back there later this week. Please come by so I can use you for a diversion.

Awesome pet supply store, I think it's a new favorite for us! They have an excellent and extensive range of items for my cat, however the one thing that was a bit lacking was the canned food options, I only saw Weruva and one or two other brands. But I mainly go to these types of places for treats and toys, both of which they have plenty of. Will return!

I have been in a lot of really great pet shops, but this pet shop carried some of the best and most unique products I have seen, from snacks and food to clothing and accessories.

I was walking on this side of Portland just exploring, welI I stumbled across Hip Hounds. I walked on in because I owned 2 dogs, so I wanted to get them a little something special. "Warning" be prepared to spend some money($$$) If you do decide to shop here. I was expecting the prices to be more like a Petco or a Petsmart situation, but this place is fancy, I guess. They sell harnesses, leashes, collars, beds, toys, dog food, and many other accessories. They do have a small cat section with a cat Food and cats accessory , but it's mostly a dog owner store from my perspective. I was looking at the dog jackets because I was like. "Okay, my little dog can use a nice little warm jacket." But when I saw the prices, my mind was blonde? $50-$100+ for a dog coat/jacket.Overall, the atmosphere in the store was great. There were a lot of people, and everybody was lively and chatting about their pets. The people working there are quite helpful. They gave good advice and were to find things. There is a coffee bar for the pet owners to enjoy. As well as a pet bakery filled with treats and all different types of goodies for your pet to enjoy if you do decide to buy some for your pet. You can also bring your pets in store if you want, they do allow it.

If you are as obsessed with your dog as I am you have come to the right place! This store is phenomenally well stocked and their barkery (bakery) is absolutely adorable. My dog had the best cake ever from here! We enjoy buying supplies and gifts here and the staff are always so welcoming and kind to their furry customers. Hip Hound is a gem of a shop and we always look forward to our visits and seeing what's new in stock. DEFINITELY check this place out!

I called here on Oct 31st (my Doggo’s birthday), trying to plan a small and cute cake for my dog day of. Despite a very short notice, the lady who helped me over the phone and in person at the bakery station was absolutely amazing. She wrote a little Happy Bday on the box for my dog and offered an upgrade of additional pastries and placed one as a topper for us.Also, this cake was SO good. I could tell, cuz it smelled so good and human-like that even I wanted to eat it. My dog gobbled it down haha. Thank you so much for making my dog’s birthday despite such a short notice! We work 12 hour healthcare shifts, so this really meant a lot to us.

I had the opportunity to swing by Hip Hound to grab some supplies for my girlfriends dog and was very impressed. Looking at the fresh baked treats and assortment of toys/treats was impressive. I asked for help and the team there went out of their way to help the anxiety of not knowing what I was doing go away. They were honest in their feedback on what was needed and what was available to add additional treats/luxuries which I definitely did. I did buy a dozen of the baked treats and "Jax" loved them! Amazing team, fun environment, adorable dogs coming in and out. I even won a drawing for a prize at the end of October. I would recommend this local business to anyone and will definitely be returning. Thank you for all your help!
