Great experience filing tax return with Tsin at Hillsboro, OR office and this office in general. As full service insurance professional I can appreciate this service. It was my 3d year with HRBlock. Last year I did it on my own & it was very easy process too.

I was talked over the whole time i was there. This place would probably work if you are just looking to have your taxes completed and you have no special circumstances. If want a consultation or have any questions, this place is not the right place to go.

This place is a ripoff. But if you want more details, I have three major complaints about this location and company altogether: 1.) Their tax "specialist" (Janet K.) made the process of filing my taxes as nightmarish and stressful as humanly possible for how easy it should have been. 2.) H&R Block's outrageous prices cost me over 2 years worth of tax returns. The most outrageous thing was that she charged over $200 to process a single 1099 page which only took her 5 minutes! 3.) Janet wasn't transparent at all about these exorbitant prices until near the end of the tax preparation, where I was also undergoing the most fatigue and stress. (Keep in mind as well that I sent the documents she needed the day before, so she most likely had access to this information well before she actually presented me with it. This was definitely intentional!) Using a professional tax preparer shouldn't have been this stressful, they are usually supposed to take the stresses of filing for taxes AWAY. You're definitely better off just doing your own.This was honestly the worst experience I've ever had with any tax preparation throughout the years. H&R Block has thoroughly proven to me that they are dishonest, sneaky, and crooked. They are obviously willing to do whatever it takes to trick you into giving them your hard earned money. Because of this, I can never in good conscience recommend this place to friends or even enemies. Neither will I ever be coming back. The only net positive from this whole experience I can think of is my newfound motivation to learn how to do my own taxes through a different company. I hope that this review serves as a warning to anyone currently thinking about using this service. This won't be happening to me again, and I hope it also doesn't happen to you.

So I went here to get my taxes done because they hadn't come out like they usually do in the previous years and I thought maybe I had been overlooking something. I sat down and the guy literally told me the same stuff I had easily read online when I was just going to file them myself. So I was like ok, how much is this gonna cost. It would have cost me 155 dollars to file with them and that's not with anything special included. That's just for my regular W2's and state Taxes. And then the guy caught an attitude when I said there was absolutely no way I'm gonna pay 155 dollars when I can literally file online for free and get the same exact results. Absolutely ridiculous.

Completely unprofessional. Went in 2 months before taxes were due. I had a weird circumstance, (had 2 states to file but had already filed my federal taxes online on a website that didnt allow 2 state taxes.) i went into this store and explained my situation and they said they could help me no problem! They asked me to upload my federal return and that was all they needed. 3 weeks went by and i hadnt heard from anyone, i called to ask how things were going and the person on the phone said no one had even begun my taxes because it hadnt been assigned to anyone but she assured me they were getting started. A few more weeks go by and i recieve a phone call asking for my federal return, i told him i already uploaded it like they asked and he said great he would get started. A few hours later another person called me and asked for the same thing. April 18th was quickly approaching and 2 days before they called me and told me they couldnt do my taxes because they would have to file my federal taxes again. They had my taxes for 2 MONTHS before telling me they couldnt do them. Of course everywhere else is booked it was not only two days before taxes were due but it was also easter weekend. When i asked the woman on the phone, (who was also the person i spoke to in person), why she didnt tell me this to begin with she said “i dont know why they told you that”….. it was her that told me that. Completely screwed me over.

My wife and I have been using H&R Block since we moved back to Hillsboro after my time in the military. Our tax professionals at Block have always been extremely helpful in getting our taxes done quickly and answering all our questions about taxes, 401K contributions and donations. I even once had someone try to scam me, told him I had the tax identity shield then gave them my tax pros number to call and he hung up.

I reached out and spoke with Janet Kochanowski about some old tax returns that I needed to track down. She was informative, patient, and went above and beyond to help me locate these tax records. Fantastic customer service and I highly recommend this service!
